Good to know. I'll be right along to rob the games from your house shortly.

I don't think I even own a game that's worth over $20-30 that isn't current gen.

I'm sure you own plenty of games that are worth $1 of crack.

I should be there.

For the love of God no fighting games please. Unless it's Clayfighter, Karate Champ. Street Fighter II, Mortal Kombat II, or Kart Fighter.

Due to myself moving into Philly that day, I don't think I'm going to be able to make it, but I still might be able to show up late. If I can get everything set up in a timely fashion I hope to be able to make an evening appearance at SJC this month. Also, if my arcade stick is finished being refurbished/made over by then, the chances of me showing up to kick some ass definitely increase.

Sorry guys. :'(

Street Fighter IV:SJC = Rock Band:NAVA

Have fun making your own analogies!

djb is not on the wheels of steel- he's on flyer duty. I can't wait to lay this on y'all. Some advice for the tourney: 1) don't shave, 2) bring a helmet, 3) practice driving blindfolded. Details to follow once the flyer is done.

Y'know, I just may have to drop into one of these. I've been to more than a few NAVAs. No reason not to drop in on a SJC. (Won't be this one though...)

Sorry DJB- Jef went into 'teething mode' (think KOF armour mode for babies w/ enhanced screaming) and i was hemmed up for the rest of the evening.

Fantastic job, as ever!

ok folks...here is the gist. if we had a car entered into the World Rally Championship, this is what the the door of our car might look like!

The tourney rules and format are being shared ahead of time due to the fact of my crazy requirements will have even the best drivers needing practice.

remember above when i suggested practicing blindfolded? i was only kinda kidding!

Folks are welcome to sign up in this thread, especially if you won't be @ the store in person until later in the day and want to secure your spot. Tourney starts @ 3:05 sharp.

Round 1 will be all of the participants taking turns time attacking Desert Track, single screen solo. Toyota Supra and Lancia HF are allowed. Manual or Auto allowed. The 4 best times move on to round 2.

Round 2 will have the final 4 racers dualing split screen 2 at a time VS mode Mountain Track.

Round 3 will see the losers of Round 2 given a second chance as Navigators for the final 2 drivers who will compete single screen time attacking Lakeside Track IN THE LANCIA STRATOS!:o

Why in the world would a driver in a video game rally need a navigator?!

You'll see.

erm, everyone but the final 2 drivers will see:wink 2:.

Great rally themed prizes for the top 2 drivers, and the best navigator!

It sounds fun, I hope I can make it. I have a few questions. Are the drivers using controllers or wheels? And is this going to be on Saturn, or maybe PS2?

wataru330

We can have a vote on Rounds 1 and 2, as I want folks to play on where they are most comfy and achieve their best times. Feel free to use provided Saturn wheel, NiGHTs pad, or bring your own Sat and/or PS2 controllers as both PS2 rev and Saturn rev are in the house.

Round 3 is where I as race marshall step in: Lakeside time attack in the Stratos: SATURN ONLY, WHEEL ONLY.

Really hope you can make it Mickey, and Dave: as 1st registrant, you get a bonus prize! Congrats!

@ Baloo: wat is moonwalker car?

@ Baloo: wat is moonwalker car?

Have you ever watched Moonwalker? It's the car Michael Jackson turns into in the movie when trying to run from Mr. Big's henchmen. Since you've probably played the Moonwalker game, it's that car that you see morph into Michael in the interlude before the start of the first level.

http://www.youtube.com/v/tcNaLO_DObY&hl=en&fs=1

Watch from 00:50 on.

And the car used in the Moonwalker movie was the Lancia Stratos! :) Hence my reference to it as "The Moonwalker car."

And very nice poster by the way DJ.

what he said earlier in the thread re: enough w/ the SFIV already...

The irony of playing a game ad nausium that we can all play each other over interwebs @ a gatering in a store filled w/ thousands of games is not lost on me.

Let's try to really mix it up! My goal is at least 5 different games on 5 different consoles that I either don't play that often, or rarely w/ a human opponent and/or co-op.

To each their own: however, the only fighter I'm playing this weekend is MOTMilli on NGPC.** Who else is w/ me?

SFIV et al we can play anytime from home, or @ UniPinball.

**The lone exception I will make is for KOF XII, as that jawn is unplayable online in it's current form (@ GAC: this is SNKPs SF II! Back to basics, and I love it!).

1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes for the SJC Rally champeenship are in! See y'all 2morrow!

Well, next SJC I'm going to bring my 32x and games, maybe that'll mix things up. IMO there should start playing some more retro stuff. Give more love to the Genesis, NES, SNES, etc.

Or, rather than Street Fighter IV, what about Street Fighter II, Street Fighter III:3rd Strike, or Street Fighter Alpha 3? I find those Street Fighter games to be better than Street Fighter IV personally. Alpha is especially overshadowed in my opinion.

I would love some Knuckles Chaotix Co-op action at the store in September. :)

September marks the 10th anniversary of the DC we will be doing something special for that. In other words bring your stuff for October. More details to come after this Saturday.
