I've been hoping for a sequel to Gun (http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r214/DigitalRED29/gun.jpg), just wanted to know since it's been out for a while now and there's no news for a sequel, is there's anything that prevents a sequel from happening? Was the game not popular? Did the company go bankrupt? Any reasons?

Neversoft making multiple Guitar Hero games yearly ... monthly ... weekly ...

Neversoft working out R&D for the new skateboard motion sensing technology for Tony Hawk Ride ...

Middling reviews of Gun 1 causing Activision to not see it as a "exploitable yearly franchise" ...

I feel bad for Neversoft. They create something awesome and then Activision abuses the fuck out of them (and the property) until there's nothing left to enjoy. Spider-Man and Tony Hawk are in the shitter and while they've done a pretty good job with keeping Guitar Hero fresh and original, Activision's policies are killing the future of the game. At least EA/MTV/Harmonix made DLC (and most songs) cross compatible between Rock Band 1 and 2. Sucks that RB Beatles won't be as friendly, but that's all licensing hell right there and I honestly didn't have my hopes up with it playing nice in the first place.

Too bad Gun didn't do better. It's a shame that people complained about its length when every single hour of gameplay was action packed and fun, something that can't be said of most other games. They could have fluffed it up and tacked on a bunch of senseless shit, but then they would have had an Okami on their hands.

Gun was the game I was playing when my wife's water broke. I will always remember her yelling down the stairs...

"Can you come up here?"
"Why?"
"I might need you to take me to the hospital now."
"Can it wait, I'm just about to beat the train?"
"It's your son, you decide."

It was a while before I was able to get back to that game.

That is an awesome anecdote.

Next time get the PSP version. Play while your wife's giving birth!

I liked Gun a lot, even if it was a bit short.

I think if you're looking for another open-world Wild West game, the upcoming Red Dead Redemption might be your best shot.
