View Full Version : Does anyone know the value of Coin-ops here (M.A.C.H 3)

I found a couple of coin-op throw-aways today. Both are junk, but are decent MAME machine candidates. Here's my question:
Is M.A.C.H 3 (laserdisc) super-rare? If it is I would hate to not even give an attempt to restore it. The controls are still there and some of the decals look okay, particularly the ceiling of the cockpit-plus all the wood is good.

I would imagine it would cost a pretty penny even if it could be restored, or I can convert it to a MAME machine cheap (which I would prefer-even though I do remember M.A.C.H 3 being awesome when it came out).

Doe's anyone know more about the rarity of this? I do believe in classic gaming preservation, so I'll ask here before I do anything to it.

you might try asking in rec.games.video.arcade on usenet too...someone there will know for sure.

I would say a working MACH 3 is very rare. I've never seen one for sale in any condition. It would be cool to have a working one as I don't think there's any way to play it emulated currently nor are there any home ports of the game. Is there? Not only is it rare but I remember it as being a cool and fun to play game with replay value, unlike other laserdisc games.

But If I found I, Robot in any condition I would give it hell trying to find parts and restore it. Does anyone one have a link to a top arcade laserdisc site? I looked at The Dragon's Lair Project site. But they list the rarity as "unknown".

As for the emu, it looks like the MAME WIP is very promising:

I see the mach 3 manual on Ebay right now and apparently there is a schematic inside the manual. That could be helpful.
