Alrighty then!

I've gathered the materials that were sent to me and constructed a very crude website:

http://www.digitpress.com/fantasyzone/

So as a team project, this is officially "underway" but really needs work! As you can see, it's got only media and really no content (besides Raccoon Lad's excellent Flash intro). Here are the things we need next:

- text describing each game in the series.
- game strategies, hints, tricks.
- history of the game.
- buttons and borders in the Fantasy Zone style.
- scans of the boxes, carts, and manuals for the home version.
- cabinet, control panel and marquee art for the arcade version.
- as you'll see, I did NOT apply the Digital Press theme to this area, nor do we have to do that. Actually I think a page dedicated to Fantasy Zone should have vibrant pastel colors, like the game itself. So "a theme" is another thing we need.

I have some other ideas, like posting each forum member's high scores in the game (perhaps even an actual screen shot showing it). I think now that the page is up, ideas will be a little easier to formulate - so start formulatin'! I'd like a huge list of contributors when this is done.

Game. ON. Everyone.

I've just now become addicted to this great game, and I do have a degree in computer multimedia... if you need buttons/banners/graphics, just tell me about what you'd like DP and I can help. Just be aware that I'm running linux with the GIMP and therefore can't simulate -all- of those snazzy do-it-yourself Photoshop filters ;-)

Thanks Adam,
I don't necessarily need to be the decider on these things, I'd like a pastelish theme with Opa Opa in key spots and various Fantasy Zone stuffs in other spots.

Maybe for starters: can you design a simple pastel background? I'll re-arrange the main page so there is a table with contents on the left (not a frame), let's see how it looks with your background and we'll continue from there.

Anyone else? Or is this already a dead project?

NO! This project CANNOT die! I'll see what I can do with the various things you need. I have been a Fantasy Zone head since my original SMS purchase, and know quite a bit about the game. My brother actually does as well. I'll talk to him tomorrow and maybe we can get some graphics, strategies and history together. I want to see the FZ page work!

I was thinking that perhaps we should talk to Omar Cornut (SMSpower) and see what he has gathered about the history of the game. He's a really nice guy, and I'm sure he would help out. Should I ask him?

Yes please. I've received a few more items from "NEB" this week as well, I'll update the page in the next few days and even structure it a little bit. We really should nudge this along.

Of course, I would love to contribute anything I can to this project Joe. You name it, images, reviews, history, animations, fan written stories... it's all up my alley as you already know.

again, let me know.

I think I have a great wallpaper design for the site, something to go on the background. It's simple, still trying to finish up and get the items in proper places, sort of a Feng Shui issue. It sort of reminds me of children's wallpaper, but it's FZ so it's cool. I'll have it done by tuesday at the latest :)

Hopefully y'all will like it

What ever happened to this project?

What ever happened to this project?

There are only so many projects I can manage, and even fewer that I can manage alone. We had very little help in this area. I set up the page, added your Flash animation and submissions from others, and it just SAT THERE. And SAT THERE... and after several attempts to get people involved, I finally let it go.

So it's gone. We'll have to try this again sometime when there are dedicated people with some time to give.
