how do you display games that you own complete?

i display mine like this: i keep the manuals in the boxes and have those displayed on shelves, and i keep all the carts loose on other shelves. this way i can get the game out quickly, not have to worry about damaging the box when trying to get it out. i even store my genesis games like this even though a lot of them are in plastic cases that can be opened easiy, some still are in the cardboard ones, and i can't stand to have some in boxes and some not, even though it takes up more space. so how do you display yours??

Well the only thing I really display is my SEGA Master System collection, and it's just easier to keep the cart and manual inside the box. Although at the current rate, the number of complete sms games I have is exploding! I'm running out of shelf space! Maybe I'll just move some NES stuff to the bedroom...

I usually keep the manual and games in box for Intellivision, SMS, Genesis, and virtually all CD based. Games like SNES and NES that aren't designed to be kept in box the box itself is either in a big-ass box in the garage or on the shelf for a nice display while all manuals are kept in one pile for easy access and games in wherever storeage I can find.

I've given some thought to a small filing cabnet just for storing manuals. I still owe someone a scan of 32X manual and I still can't find the #$#@ manual (although I found Breath of Fire 1 and 2 manuals/maps that I didn't know I had)

If I show them off I keep the manuals in the boxes and have the games out that way the box does not have to be opened all the time to take the game out and that messes the boxes up fast.

OK, I have the boxes, empty on the shelves.

The Manuals are ina three ring binder in "baseball card" holder thingies.

The game goes with all the other games.

UNLESS it's sealed, which I think I only have 4-5 games sealed (I usually open em up) then it goes on the shelf with the boxes, nothing special.

@the people who voted for carts and manuals in boxes:
but what about when you want to play the game, you have to take it out every time and cause wear to the box(cardboard ones), how can you stand that?

thats why multicarts were invented =)
at least on the systems where there are multicarts- thats a really good solution.

right now i have everything archived in large white boxes.. 22 to be exact. hopefully ill get some shelves up and be able to display this stuff soon... im jealous of you guys that have your stuff out to look at all the time :)

I keep all the stuff in the box or jewel case. If I have the instructions but no box I keep them in a 3-ring binder. Same with overlays. If it is just a cart they are in a file cabinet or a plastic bin.

I am already close to being out of space. So there is no way I could keep the seperate.

I keep all of my NES carts in boxes, the manuals in a photo album, and then I place the boxes on my bookshelf. My complete Genesis games are all together, box, cart, and manual. I just don't care about them nearly as much. My complete Atari games are manual in box on the shelf, carts in a different box.

I keep all of my system boxes on the shelf where i keep my systems, i keep my rare game boxes on the top of my game shelf, i file away the instruction booklets in seperate files in a box, and i put my loose games on the slelves.

well since most of my games are complete, i display them exactly how i bought them. the cart and instructions are in the box along with the sleeve and styrofoam and whatever warranty cards there may be. i dont worry about the minimal wear the box will get from opening it to get the game out. especially on genny games.

well, as nothing here gets lent out, i just keep everything together. as a player first/collector second, it's funny to see people in the shop pore over game boxes/cd cases like they're rare comic books or delicate rice paper. i just can't make myself NOT play something i spent good loot on, lol. the only things i'm careful with are the crappy sega cardboard boxes (that electronic arts used a few years before sega did, lol), and some complete nes games, but at least THOSE boxes are built to last, lol...

i really need to put up more shelves after the walls are done here- i have about 700 or so games stacked in a growing tower on top of a small file cabinet in one corner, another few hundred on shelves next to that, and a few hundred more cd cases to the right of the tv and on the other wall. then there's the bookcase and table with a load of sfc & mega drive stuff i have to scan for www.classicgaming.com/japangaming when i have the time, lol... :?

all my games are kept in plastic drawers out of the way. I smoke but I dont want it on the games. Mainly because it can be bad on electronics and I definitely dont want people I trade with that are non smokers to have to deal with that shit.

Ive put games on ebay Ive had or over a year and never a bad comment so I guess it works well.
