Regardless of what your weekend activities may have been, we know it was hard to enjoy yourself, knowing that people in Japan (http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/30/dsi-firmware-v1-4-drops-in-japan-facebook-connectivity-arrives/) and Europe (http://nintendo.joystiq.com/2009/07/30/dsi-facebook-update-available-in-europe-also-blocks-homebrew/)were sharing their DSi photos on Facebook higglety pigglety, while yours were trapped by a lack of DSi 1.4 firmware like Zod and crew in the Phantom Zone.

Finally, said photos can be set free with an update to your DSi arriving at 8 p.m. EST in North America. Can you even wait until then? Yes, we imagine you can.http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif (http://www.joystiq.com)Facebook integrated with DSi in North America tonight (http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/03/facebook-integrated-with-dsi-in-north-america-tonight/) originally appeared on Joystiq (http://www.joystiq.com) on Mon, 03 Aug 2009 10:30:00 EST. I've never signed up for a facebook account, I may have to now.

I wonder what else this update does to the DSi.

prevents all those special carts from working. blocks out most if not all current ones like DSTTi, Hyper R4i, ak2i, R4 Ui, R4i Gold, EZVi, etc. other than that and facebook not a whole lot

Let me ask this: Do we REALLY need kids going around with their DSis taking pictures and uploading them for the world to see? Besides, they recently changed their TOS to allow them to sell your pictures to advertisers. You have no control over what happens to those pictures, so I hope you're comfortable being used to sell products and services you've never heard of.

I use MySpace to track bands, and that's it. There's no reason for me to bother with Facebook.

Odd question. You could ask do we really need most anything, including owning a Nintendo DS. Its a cool feature if people are going to get some use out of it. Not everyone uses social networking sites to just track bands.

And I doubt most people are worried about their pictures being used, it was just a possibility that existed under a now withdrawn terms of use that they instituted.

They've been changing their TOS pretty often recently, not sure if I trust that.

Of all the social networking sites, Facebook is the worst IMO.

I find Facebook much more usable than MySpace. 12lbs o' HTML profiles give my 7 year old PC heartburn.

I'm just glad that all these folks aren't gumming up my facebook and twitter accounts with their rampant negativity.
