I did a quick ebay search but I didn't find much. There was a yellow label version of this cart, but I couldn't find anything regarding a white label version....can anyone give me more info?

That's gotta be worth at least a grand I'd say.

Dude, May 2009? No offense, but have you been around long enough to be pricing things? Which isn't to say I don't comment on things I shouldn't be trying to price (and $100 too much is worse than $750 too much, IMO).
I recall the yellow Zelda test carts selling here for around $250 and don't know what this goes for - but it's not a game, so...

In that condition, I would say $150-$195 (typically). Could get a little more depending on how many people were in the market for one.
$1,000 is just silly. I've seen sets of six sell for less than that.

Hmm, what's the deal with this? (http://www.crunchgear.com/2009/03/29/super-rare-nes-joystick-test-cartridge-on-ebay-at-1050/) It's a yellow cartridge, and somebody apparently paid $1050 for it (maybe that's what Baloo had in mind).

Hmm, that's why I linked to that in the first place....

OH SNAP!
LOL
I checked the link, but is not very clear about the sale; it could be a sale that wasn't completed or a fluke or just some clever guy that listed the game at a high reserve price.
I always check prices of test carts because i completed my set in the fall of 2008 ... and a grand is not the regular price which is closer to 100 or 150 usd.

That really doesn't change the point that you shouldn't have posted that price as gospel.
Anyhow, my question is still out there - gray carts seem more likely to be easy to pirate (http://www.nesplayer.com/features/test%20carts/test.htm) but I'm wondering if they're actually rarer.
p.s. God I hate cluttered signatures. There should be a line between the last post of a thread and the signature dividing line LOL

Here's a link to where six sold for $900:
http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=6&threadid=16844&highlight_key=y
$1,000 is a silly price. Did that cart actually SELL for that much money, or was it just listed as such?
To answer the original question, I'm assuming you meant cart color and not label color. Yellow test carts are no more rare than grey test carts. The only test carts that command a premium would be the Zelda test cart and the Duck Hunt test cart. The Zelda cart ranges GREATLY in price (between $200 and $800), and I would assume that a Duck Hunt cart would sell for upwards of a thousand if one were to ever go up for open auction.

Well, it's good that you're confident in your abilities.
Seriously though, the part you have bolded - "I'd say" - could have been replaced with something like "...this website I found seems to indicate, also I have no idea personally." Anyway, no harm done.

He just posted what he thought it was worth. He happened to be off base. We'll live. No need for the internet police to come out in full force, especially when they themselves seem to be out of the know. . .

So I take it you're volunteering to go around clearing up misinformation from folks who write "I'd say" instead of "I found this..." ? How thoughtful of you ;)
Indeed it's not so big an issue as all that, because (as I explained) I missed his link - mea culpa.
Dunno where you come off saying I'm "out of the know" though; I asked a question but even so I had an idea about what these are worth before I posted (if you look, I was estimating at $150 for completed sales which is in line with the other estimates).
Anyway, I think we're all on the same page now, so good deal. \\^_^/

Yeah, a grand for a NES test is a "little" bit much. Over the past few years, the non-Zelda and non-Duck Hunt versions have stayed between $100 and $200 or so for the most part. About three years ago, I sold the rest of what I had gotten from a Service Center, and I got just over $150 each for the NES and SNES carts. These were part of a large lot that also included an NES and SNES counter tester, and some other odds and ends. Here's some pics of the carts for anyone who may not have seen all these before...

I agree with Baloo and BeaglePuss about this matter... you jumped in him preemptively.

Nope, those yellow carts are the real deal. They look a hell of a lot cooler than the Grey ones though. The link I posted earlier is from my brother's FS thread over at NA. He and I managed to score 7 test carts, including a yellow Zelda test cart, for $600. It was one of our best finds to date. I miss those carts, but they ended up paying for a lot of our protos down the line.

the zelda is definately worth more than the joystick and other tests other than duck hunt.
I found a Zelda Test cart last summer at a flea market here in Fort Worth for $2 (which I actually passed on one Sunday not knowing what it was and got it the next Sunday).
It has a tore up label but I still got $275 plus a DEAD MINT Super Mario RPG Complete and like new and Strategy Guide for it.
So that was pretty much about $375 value out of the cart with a half tore up label.

I'm tempted to just apologize, but I'm afraid my point - don't throw your weight behind what some random loser on The Google did - would be lost.
And "jumped?" Man, must be a tough town where you live. ;)
I'm glad he shared the link (after all, I "rediscovered" and reposted it myself).
Kind of surprised at all the calls for apologies considering I pointed out (in multiple ways) that I'm no sage myself...ah well, that's the way it probably should be.
Ah, what the hell, I'll just apologize for overreacting.

Things are worth what people are willing to pay.
I'll start the bidding at $150 :)
