Hey, I just have a few questions about a Philips Cdi 220... I came across a unit at a thrift store and picked it up to see what it was like. I am thinking that the unit must have been a sales persons unit at some point because it came with 13 demonstration cd's in a special CDi caselogic case. It also has 2 other games, the remote, and a controller. It has the original manual and also a sales training guide. I just tested the unit and it works great. I was just wondering how rare of a find this is and how much it might be worth? If you would like, I could send you some pictures. Just let me know.
Thanks.

question one
does it have the dv cart installed
it goes in a slot in the back
question 2
if it does have a dv cart
would you sell it to me
just the cart mind you
hard to tell value without the games
i would put it at 150 conservatively

There is a subforum for price inquiries (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=37).
On topic, I haven't heard of this special case and it would also be interesting to see what the demo CDs are.
The add-on DV cartridge theknod mentioned is used for playing back digital video more clearly - with it installed the CD-i has the best video of devices from its time, and it's essential for playing some CD-i games. I wouldn't take it out if you want to use this machine for playing. Otherwise, though, it will fetch a bit of money on its own.
The 220 is just a generic CD-i player - worth some money (I don't know what they go for now, $30 at least I would assume).
The case and discs might be more fun to have, although if there's no games on them it may only be interesting to a dedicated CD-i collector.

I still can't seem to get into that subforum for price inquiries.
It is an interesting find with all the salespersons material and all the demo stuff.
thanks for the replies!!

Ah, that's right - you have to be around for ten days before the Buying & Selling section unlocks, which includes the ""What's it worth?" (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=37) subsection.
Still hoping for a picture of the item you're mentioning, sounds interesting.

Ahh, tank you very much.
I think I've seen the Renaissance disc reviewed; other than that, Titanic, Shark Attack, Treasures of the Smithsonian, and Alien Gate could be interesting.
The case gets the job done. Just fancy enough to catch the eye.

Where are you located at, by the way? I ask because around the Dallas area I've seen a whole lot of those demonstration discs. I've got a bunch myself, Zelda: Wand of Gamelon included. I'm just wondering if it's a local thing, or are they can be found all over the nation.
