i do believe it has a fuse inside, id check that first. If not than maybe a cap or the voltage regualtor.

One night I was drunk and I did the same thing. I may have done something else to it, not too sure, in a vain effort to get it to turn on.....but in any case it hasn't worked since. Now it sits under an inch of dust in my closet.

did you try a working genesis power adapter?

Chances are that you blew the fuse. Simple fix really.

Something tells me you're the same guy as on GameFAQs...

Anyways, if you are, check your topic there. If not, here's a guide (http://www.mrvfone.com.au/sega/fuse.htm). There's also somebody on the Neo-Geo forums who will repair them, but I'm sure somebody here does the same thing.

do all sega cds have this fuse? i heard it will blow if you move the system while its on and stuff, i picked my system up and pretty much shook it while it was on and it didnt turn off........ but then the ac adaptor i had been using overheated

I post on gamefaqs too. *dman970* I thought that this post sounded way too familiar. Anyway, like I said on gamefaqs, you blew the fuse when you used the NES AC adapter. Yes all Sega CD systems have this fuse.

not unless you pop in a new new fuse.

The right power adapater isn't going to get you anywhere when the fuse is blown.

will he get it this time? Your fuse is gone, without it, no juice is ever going to move through your segacd, at all.

Its actually not that hard to fix. A few years back I bought a sega cd that wouldnt turn on, put in a new fuse and it works like perfect.

Spend 4$ at radio shack and use the guide posted above, thats what i used.

actually it is not really that hard to replace the fuse. watch these videos. this is not me BTW. i am subscribed to him and watched all his videos though.
this is a temporary fix to see if that is what is wrong and testing. don't leave it like this. watch next video to get idea of what to do.

all fixed with cheap fuse easy to replace.

guess you could get a different fuse holder and mount in that empty space to the left if don't want to put holes. that was jstu to make it easier to replace it without taking it apart.
