It occured to me that I never post my game collection pictures over here on DP. I'm not quite sure what forum to put these in, so mods please move this if I'm in the wrong place. I thought there used to be a Room of Doom forum for such things?
Anyway, without further ado...
Part 1: My basement (changed around a bit since these were taken, but pretty much still the same). Sorry for the odd sizing, AA scales the pictures accordingly so I never noticed they were all different sizes.

Michigan? I should roll around sometime!
You know, my biggest fear about having stuff in a basement is that it'll flood. If you've got a well on your property, know where the switch to turn it off is (and use that switch when you go on vacation).
Other than that, it's mostly from a time period outside what I play but I'd still not mind having some of those things. Right now I'm probably most envious of your CRT monitors though - playing arcade boards via an LCD monitor is no fun.

And a few more from the upstairs.
Posters on my wall:

My modern stuff is downstairs in the family room hooked up to the HD TV (360, Wii, PS3), but I don't have a picture of that. I'm also missing a picture of the entertainment center in the basement. It's the same one as upstairs, but it has my 5200, NES, SMS, 7800, Coleco Adam, and O2 hooked up to it.

Whoa....very very nice.
One of the cleanest set-ups and collections I have ever seen! But one part of me somehow misses that "cozy den-feeling" if that makes sense....guess that is easily fixed with a big comfy chair and lights out though.
All in all, one of the best ones I've seen!

Awesome indeed, but a VCS needs to be setup upstairs

He Means AES, the Neo Geo Home Console. At least, I think those are the AES boxes.

Yeah, they don't look like shockboxes to me. Looks like a collection of US AES boxes. Kind of surprising to see so many Neo Geo games when the focus seems to be 8-bit! Somebody is loaded (or perhaps "was").

No actually I mean MVS (had a memory lapse there). Those are MVS carts in shockboxes with custom inserts. They're supposed to look like AES boxes. :)
I do plan on getting a couch downstairs and a mini-fridge (already have the coffee table). It's starting to look like a den already.
The protos are long gone. Sold them off over a year ago. Although they were never really on display, just stuck in tubs. :)
The reason the 2600/7800 is downstairs is because everything is organized by era. Classic era (2600 to NES) is downstairs, Neo-Classic era (Genesis/SNES to DC) is upstairs, and modern stuff is in the family room. Computers are also downstairs. The 8-bit and MSX are the only exception to the rule. They're upstairs for space reasons.

I'm mostly a loose-cart collector myself but I am especially impressed with your boxed 2600 collection. Hell, I don't think I've seen that many boxed VCS carts in one place since K-Mart circa 1982.

*facepalm*
Not having seen shockbox spines before this, I'm a bit surprised to see how much they look like AES games. It's still impressive - even though MVS games are far and away cheaper, that's still obviously quite the investment. Especially with the shockboxes which ain't free. If I were to go into MVS collecting, I'd probably do something dumb like insist on matching boxes and serials (and end up with a grand total of one kit, lol).
So, where's the candy cab? Or do you play them some other way, like via Phantom 1?
ALSO! Nice collection of Atarisoft IIe games there (the orange boxes smack dab in the middle of one picture) - did you get those back in the day or more recently? I saw and bought the same fourteen games on eBay a while back (and there was a discussion here a few years ago about how many Atarisoft games for the IIe were released). Any chance we could get a picture of the Track & Field controller while you're at it?

Well my MVS fixation is english labels with intact serials. That adds a bit ot the cost...
I have a consolized MVS system. Longhorn made it for me about two years ago. It's on the bottom of the entertainment system.
As for the marquees I just used those 3M wall sticker things. Those four are mylar and plastic so they're light enough. I haven't figured out how to hang the glass ones yet.

No doubt! Impressive as heck to imagine that anybody is able to find them though after the years most have been neglected / abused.
Consolized MVS = goodness. Arasoi also went that route IIRC. You're getting a lot more bang for your buck than I am with the AES Gold that I have (unmodded so crap video and mono audio, yuck).
Updated my post earlier, any thoughts on that other stuff?

I got those off ebay years ago when they first started popping up. I believe this is the complete set, the documents I've seen seem to corroborate this. There are a few prototypes floating around though like Mario Bros.
The track and field controller is the same as the 2600 one. They just included a funky little adapter that plugs into the paddle port inside the Apple. Not very convenient. You'd think they'd just use the joystick port.

Honestly I don't know. This collection has been growing since 1996 so it's hard to say how much I've invested in it. Probably a lot less than you'd think since prices were a lot lower 10 years ago when I got the bulk of my stuff. :)
