I'm having problems with the Nintendo 64 system there is no audio or video when I turn on the system. I have an expansion pak and I'm using the gamecube AV cable.

Does this happen with all the games you own? Usually if the N64 cannot read the game it just powers on and doesn't show any signs of working on the TV. Give your cartridges a good cleaning and try and blow out any dust in the cartridge port on the console. If that doesn't work you can also try to see if the cable work on any Nintendo console SNES-GCN.
Finally, make sure the Expansion pack is in the console snuggly. That's all I can think of to try and help.

Exactly what Dr. Dib said.
Mine also gets finicky with carts from time to time. So I take a q-tip and rub the contacts on the cart, and then do the same thing with the connector on the N64. While my contacts are all nice and shiny, they do get dusty from time to time, so a dry q-tip usually works. Also try and reseat the cart, and push it down with a little force too, sometimes this works for me as well.

not sure how common this is but i had a game that killed jump pak/expansion paks. mario kart 64. put it in turn it on and it messes up light goes off on N64. turn off take game out and try another game and won't even light up. unplugged it and waited a few sec and pluged back in lights up but games don't work. i took the N64 back to where i got it along with the few games i was testing i just got form someone. they tested my N64 and seen it didn't work. they got another N64 and tested few game si had on it and worked. tried mario cart and it messes up doing the same thing. they unplugged it and light came one and don't work. they changed the jump lak in one of them and it worked again. they tested mario kart and it killed it. they did this like 4 or 5 times with N64.s and finally found out it was that game. they gave me one that worked and i let them keep that game. at least i got a expansion pak for free in the deal since stuff got mixed up i guess. i really don't know how this happened but it did.
