Someone on Kijiji has a boxed NES action set but are asking $100. Seems excessive to me but I'm not sure about boxed NES value. Box looks in good shape from the pic they sent but I haven't seen pics of the actual system. Can anyone ballpark a CIB action set please.
Thanks

nothing close to $100, about $40 to $50 would be a good price.

In 2007 I sold one for $60

I'd say $30-$50. Maybe $60 if it's in really excellent shape.

To keep or flip?

For myself. I'd like to have a nice boxed unit for display purposes and another toaster itself as a backup. I only have one NES (well two if you count the toploader) but yes, its for myself.

I've sold several for $100 thru Craigslist, but I don't think they're really worth that much. The only one worth more than $100, imo, is the ROB one.

I paid around $20 for mine at a garage sale. I think $100 for one would be a little high unless its the Deluxe Set with ROB like mobius said.

Well he's claiming he has a buyer at $110 and if I'd like to match it, its mine. I told him no thanks. I have a strange feeling that this other buyer doesn't really exist.

I personally don't think its worth more then $50 but perhaps I'm undervaluing the boxed nes system market. It isn't the one with ROB, its called an Action Set if that makes any difference.

Hmm - just for historical perspective, I looked at some eBay prices for Action Sets a couple years back (y'know - before that whole market implosion thing). I think some were going for over $60, but again they might've had ROB.

That does seem high for today's pricing. Personally, $50 for an Action Set seems like an excellent price to me: I paid $40 at the local thrift a few years ago for my boxed NES (Control Deck set, just the bare-bones).

But definitely be prepared to walk away (and feel sorry for whoever's that desperate).

The Action Set is the most common type of boxed system that you'll come across, it's not rare or anything. There are different variations for the Action Set boxes, grey or orange zapper pictured, US or Canadian box(one has french on it too), etc. I don't know if the variations change the value though.

thanks gameguy.

Another little tidbit with this retard I'm dealing with, he claims he's selling his action set for $110 to someone else (unless I matched, which I didn't.) Well, at the same time I'm selling some boxed GBA games on Kijiji so he replies that he'd like to buy them, ok fine. Problem is, he says he doesn't have any money. So I ask "what about the $110 from the guy you sold the boxed NES to?"

Its weird, he's suddenly stopped emailing me. :D
