I have a copy of King of Fighters 95 for Saturn but the system won't read the ROM cart. Strange thing is I have a 4MB RAM cart and that works just fine for the games that use it. Has anybody else had a problem like this before? Could the cart slot be going out or possibly the KOF 95 cart is just busted?

Check the cart slots pins, make sure they don't look bent. I'm not familiar with the saturn, but I assume you can do the credit card with a t-shirt to clean it out. If it doesn't work after a good cleaning it's probably the cart. You could always de-solder a cart slot from a bad saturn and try that out, but it's most likely the cartridge itself.

Thanks Spazmonkey I'll have to try the credit card cleaning method when I get a chance.

This is probably unlikely, but I had problems with my Saturn where I didn't put the cart correctly in. I had purchased a SEGA Saturn memory card and was thinking it was bad because I couldn't get the console to read it. As it turned out I wasn't lining up the pins with the slot correctly. I realized this a few years after I bought it...

This doesn't seem to be your problem though as you did mention you got a cart in there before, but it is still possible so I thought I'd share it. Someone will probably be able to get a cheap laugh out of my stupidity at least.

The cartridge slot on the Saturn is notorious for being finicky, especially with the RAM carts. Sometimes it has to be placed in just right. It might take one or two (dozen) tries.
