Ok so Im headin to New York the 28th of August and I was planning on visiting the Digit Press store in NJ. Whats the best route to get to the store from Columbia University and from the Double Tree around 48 and Lexington. Which ever is best.

Will you be driving, or public-transitting?

Like how much will it take for me to get there in public and how much will it cost in Taxi (I suppose it will be like $40)

Taken from NJ Transit website (http://www.njtransit.com/sf/sf_servlet.srv?hdnPageAction=TripPlannerItineraryF rom) :

Here's Your Best Route:

Itinerary from PORT AUTHORITY BUS TERMINAL to 387 PIAGET AVE

Itinerary:

Depart : PORT AUTHORITY BUS TERM [41ST & 8TH ENT](On 190 Paterson via Union City) 2:15 P.M.

Arrive : MAIN AVE. & PIAGET AVE. 3:04 P.M.

Walk 0.37 mile W to 387 PIAGET AVE

REGULAR FARE CHILD/SENIOR/DISABLED FARE

Bus Fare $4.40 Bus Fare $2.00
Rail Fare $0.00 Rail Fare $0.00
Transfer Fee $0.00 Transfer Fee $0.00

Total $4.40 Total $2.00

The Port Authority Bus Terminal (often just called 'Port Authority') is located between 8th & 10th Aves, and between 40th and 42nd Sts. From Lexington and 48th it's a schlep, but if youo don't mind breaking a sweat and you're not lugging a bunch of heavy stuff with you it's certainly doable. Put another way, if I was doing the walk alone I'd do it, but I don't know anyone else that would walk it with me. Most people will either take a cab or subway to Port Authority from Lex.

Once you get off the bus, you've got a short walk, maybe a couple of blocks, to the DP store. You can't miss it.
