Actually, it half-works. It starts out with slightly glitched images of Sonic and Mario, then full glitched versions, then the ROM stops working.

I'm afraid it hasn't. Believe me, I tried looking for it. I failed. :(

I'll try harder, and see if we're wrong about it not being fully emulated. But don't hold your breath. Any game made in 2001 isn't likely to be prepped for emulation.

EDIT: I tried harder... looks like we'll have to wait another three months or so before it becomes semi-legal. Sorry, butta. I want to play this game too... interesting to see Cave's take on a sideways shmup, when we're so used to them going for a top-down perspective. But I cannot be of more help. Anyone who finds ANY website where Progear is downloadable, let butta or me know. PLEASE.

This was a ridiculously hard game to play when I was younger and I'd like to tackle it...

This is a sticky subject, and the industry constantly changes, making my personal view on the harm ROMs do to it flip pretty often.

This thread started at a time long before XBox Live and Virtual Console, when PC emulators were the only place you were going to get to play obscure ROMs. I no longer feel this should be allowed on these forums.

Further, the "Emulation" pages on the Digital Press site will soon undergo a change and will no longer host ROMs.
