Videogame collecting can be an expensive hobby but then again it can be a very rewarding hobby as well.

However does anyone here have an "endgame" where they will sit back and pat themselves on the back for a job well done in getting all the games that they ever wanted or are we going to be meeting in 40 years time at the retro-pensioners forum?

Your thoughts....

I'll likely never stop. There's good new stuff being made all the time, so it's just a matter of finding it.

I think I'll get to a point where I won't want any older games, but I'll still look forward to getting new ones. That doesn't mean there will ever be a point where I won't play older games =P

THE PLAN THUS FAR:

Step 1. GET:

50 NES
20 SNES
20 Genesis
10 or so TG-16
7 or 8 32X
10 SMS
10 Gameboy/Advance

Step 2. DIE.

I don't know, as long as I have extra money (I most certainly do NOT right now) I'll keep buying every single copy of Akumajo Dracula x68000 I see. I'd like to do the same thing with Super Metroid SFC, especially since I now know it's not worth $45...yet.

I will stop when I finish my NES collection less tham 50 left to go and most are boxed complete.

THATS IT I'm done.

Maybe, I stress maybe I will go for an atari 2600 collection when I gat older, I'm just 21 now. But there alot of games and homebrews for that. And if your gonna collect you have to go for EVERYTHING.

Yes, like every GOOD game? I like to have only GOOD games in my house, let alone my shelf (never mind the fact that Zero...yeah...is up there).

Even if you don't play them, it's the games that count! The GOOD games, see?

"are we going to be meeting in 40 years time at the retro-pensioners forum?"
LOL
I'll see you there..,providing I live another 40 yrs. :-D

There is no endgame for me..I'll never stop collecting/playing videogames.

I pat myself on the back a lot..
I'll pat myself on the back when I pick up something rare for cheap or a good or great find..or If I buy something cheap that needs to be repaired and... I repair it..

I pat myself on the back when I buy a game that I thought might be crap, taking a chance and the game turning out to be really great.
and.
I pat myself on the back for having my wonderful Son..

OK let me clarify, I will ALWAYS be buying more video games, that will never stop. But I won't keep all my games. I only keep games that I like and have replay value or games I am collecting.

I have lots o games its just i'm not ciollection for any other systems except NES.

Same here. I doubt I'll ever stop, but I'll only buy/collect the stuff I like and dump stuff I don't.

I will probably stop after I finish my NES collection... what I mean by this is finish my cart only collection then start swaping out games for boxed/complete games.

As soon as I have every NES game complete, I will stop... unless I start to find games around here other then NES. (I would like to collect for a system where I can get most of the games in my town)

stop????? NEVER! actually at the moment I don't see myself stopping. I'm having too much fun and good success finding things. If my sources ever dry up I could see myself taking a break from collecting for awhile, heh heh, maybe then I could actually PLAY some of these games I spend most of my free time searching for.

Will collecting ever get tired, will we never end? I hope not. As long as there are games coming out like Kickle Cubicle, No One Can Stop Mr. Domino!!!, Three Dirty Dwarves and Mr. Driller, I will NEVER stop, and it'll be fun the entire way! :P

If they stopped making games today, there are probably still enough of them out there right now for me to continue collecting at the rate I have been for the rest of my life.

So, uhhh...no.

When is "Enough"?
When games stop being made for several years?

I actually think I have enough games already. Just not the right ones.
So I keep buying and selling, while trying to keep the number around 600 untill I've got all the ones I want.
