Warren Davis

As one of the star-studded arcade designers at Gottlieb, Warren Davis was the lead designer of Q*Bert, the company's most successful coin-operated video game and a consistent money maker in arcades across America in 1983 and 84. His follow-up effort was a futuristic laserdisc-based game, Us vs. Them. While it never achieved the same amount of commercial success as Q*Bert, it is nonetheless a unique title that is well-respected by classic gaming fans today.

Following Gottlieb's (then called Mylstar by that time) exit from video games in favor of its traditional position as a leader in pinball, Davis brought his talents to Williams, where he developed Joust 2. He also contributed in many other areas, particularly in game engine development and programming tools. Davis started the game development tools which eventually became NARC. He also was integral in the integration of video digitizing in games. Finally, he was part of the team which developed Terminator 2, the highly successful gun game.

Today, Davis is a VR Programmer at Walt Disney Imagineering.
