Hey,
Lookin for a red shelled dreamcast (not one of those mysteriously expensive biohzard dcs, just those old replacement see-through color shells). Either an empty shell or dreamcast in it, whatever :P
Please tell me you have one and ur willing to part :<

Whenever I read "red shell", I think of Mariokart.
I therefore found this thread title very confusing.

A blue shell Dreamcast will travel back in time and take out Sony games division. LOL
i dunno how else to explain em ;p they were called replacement shells and i want a red one :P

He's looking for one of these (http://www.classicplastic.net/dvgi/features-MODSDCshellchange.html), except in red. That's a little tutorial I wrote up for when I changed out one into a dark green shell (there was also a light lime green one you could find back then). That's still my primary Dreamcast to this day. Even back when I wrote that (around 2002 or so) the sources for replacement DC shells had just about dried up - these days they are completely dry. The last time I saw shells the sellers wanted something like $100.00+ JUST for the boxed shell. I do have one other dark green shell that still hasn't been used but I'd want quite a bit for it myself.
I have the other colors i really want, smoke/white, blue, lime green. I'm really looking purely for a red one.
edit: and you can get the colored ones for about 50 bucks on ebay (not just the shells, but with hardware in em) they do crop up on auctions. Unfortunately I've only seen the red one once, it seems to be a bit rarer.

Since we are on the topic...Here's mine....Although, the orange LED didn't cut it for me, so replaced with a Cool Ice white LED instead...

These used to be easy to find :-( I have a source for the fluorescent greenish/yellowish ones, but that's it now. Good luck.

How much are you looking to spend on the shell?
I love my clear green one. I'm not certain, but I wouldn't be surprised if some of the Chinese malls down in the city still have some of these shells in their cupboards... Of course they never mark down anything (since they don't want to lose money on it...) and would rather let it sit there at the full original asking cost. I'll have a look next time I'm down, but it may not be for months.
i'd be more then happy to pay the original retail price :P

Let me also suggest scanning eBay every once in awhile, because that is the same shell I have on mine. Also note, even though it is clear red, as with mine, because it is clear red, when you install it, it looks like it is a dark pink

I've seen it, it's not quite as fantastic as the re le red, but it is still very nice ;p
I do regularly scan ebay, and that's how I ended up with 2 of my 3 colors, yet to find a red one though :( You wouldn't by chance think of selling yours though would u :P?
