I dropped my psp on the side with the analog stick, now it is acting as if the analog stick is being pressed down while in the neutral position. However, I can press down on the faceplate beside of the analog stick and everything is okay. Is there a connection somewhere that's not being made? Thanks for any help! Btw, it's a 1000 and not under warranty so no sending it to sony.

PSP analogs are hardware independent of the motherboard, not soldered to anything (just screwed on), very easy to replace and not expensive.

Might just need adjusting. Try opening it up removing, cleaning and re-seating the unit.

You could have this problem if the PSP case is not closed all the way. I experienced this when I changed out my screen. The analog stick worked exactly like you described until I screwed in the bottom left side of the case.

Great! Thanks for the links and info guys. My faceplate doesn't screw in all the way on that side so I'll try replacing that first. Thanks again!!!

I opened my Phat to swap out a speaker and now my analog is stuck registering up and left. I tried several faceplates, but nothing seemed to fix it. I've since upgraded to a slim, but I'd still like to fix it. Any suggestions?
