Hello, maybe I can get an answer here. I'm a member over at nintendoage, and I got mixed answers when I asked this. I am looking for a left handed power glove. Like this one:

I was a little too young for that movie, so can someone tell me if this is a prototype or just image editing. I'm left handed, and waving my right arm around is just stale -_-

Chances are, they wanted Fred Savage on the left, being the main character. Your eyes would draw to him first.

On the other hand, were left handed Power Gloves even made?

I will double check, but our child-size is left handed.

if you have a child size lefty, lemme know if you want to sell it. I'm pretty petite, there's a good chance it would fit me.

That was pretty much the same reason I didn't use mine much, the problelm with cutting the thumb out is some/most of the programs require use of the thumb, but still it woudln't be THAT hard to rewire it a bit.

I know there was a prototype for the "Sports glove" mentioned in a few mags back in the day that had the option to be left or right handed, too bad the glove flopped majorly or it might have seen the light of day.

If you play with the power glove using your left hand, it feels like someone else is playing...

uh....

One thing I looked into was the writing on the Power Glove. Yeah, it's written correctly, but the buttons are interesting. They have their writings on the bottoms, but I"m pretty sure they are on the top when worn. In fact, the whole glove is completely upside down. So yeah, who knows. I don't think that means anything, but it is interesting. There flies are all correctly placed in the regular picture.

I guess that would have been a good question to ask Fred Savage at the Wizard reunion. He probably doesn't remember what he wore, but it would be interesting to ask.

Christian Slater was in "The Wizard"?

And Samantha, dare I ask where your avatar is from? I seem to recall somewhat of a stink when I first used mine. LOL

Found one glove, our boxed adult one and it's a righty. Now... have to find the child size. This could take a while.

I remember when the Power Glove was released my friend's dad was running around like crazy trying to find a left handed one for his son. He eventually just bought a right handed one, then gave it to me a few years later. My memory is usually pretty good about this stuff and I remember he never did find a left handed Power Glove, however he also was never flat out told that one wasn't produced.

Part of the biggest NOS stash I ever found was over 50 Power Gloves. All of them were Righties. I personally don't think a lefty was made, but I reserve the right to be wrong.

LOL! I took it when I got my NES powerpak. Someone "donated" it to me in trade for doing a camwhore pic with it. It was a joke I thought too fun to contain to one collecting community.

LOL My step brother told me about that thread on NA a little while ago. I was talking with him tonight and he got to browsing around NA again and came across a thread you started that got me to join NA for a single post (http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=10&threadid=20654). I simply couldn't resist. For the record, the Central Valley has pretty much been squeezed dry, well, from how it used to be for game finds. I still manage to find decent stuff in the South Bay however but that's due to a couple connections I've had for years.

The quickest way to tell if the Wizard cover artwork was reversed would be to see what side Fred Savage's hair is parted on in the movie, and compare to the cover.

hard to tell looking at the trailer but looks like it's parted just the way the poster is ><

It's possible it was a prop for the photo shoot.

But the only *real* way to solve this mystery is for someone to ask Fred Savage.

Either ask Fred Savage or call up Ned Flanders at the Leftorium.

Very good post, now you have me wondering if I have ever heard of a left handed power glove. Its like a myth.

why on earth is the D pad on the right side of the controller? is that how it is in the actual power glove? shouldn't it be on the left side? so if you have it on your left hand you can play it like an actual NES controller?

That is a very good question....

...for Fred Savage.
