I can definitely vouche for this guy as well. I trade/cash deal with him for the Neo Geo CD top loader and it came professionally packaged, fully modded, and I just cant get enough. Super fast shipper and a complete pleasure to deal with.

Would you be able to fix the disc drive in a PS3? Mine doesn't read any discs at all, the little loading icon comes up, but nothing ever happens.

I have a few things I'd like to inquire about.

•Turbo Duo repair — sound issue - My Turbo Duo sound has finally give out. I am understanding that it is a capacitor issue?

•Super Grafx region mod — does this modification have any switches or buttons? Can this be done while keeping the console in its original form?

How much would it cost to go about fixing a Game Gear with a dark and scratched up screen? The screen on my blue game gear is so dark, I have to turn the brightness all the way up and tilt it just to see it in a decent light. I figure it's the capacitors, what would the cost be?

Region modded Dreamcast, no damned disc swapping or any of that crap, just a system I can put legit import discs in and run without problems.

Doable? Cost? PM me when you have a chance.

I don't think there's a mod that allows compatibility for all regions at the same time. You can jump a point underneath the console to reset it, and flash it as a different country, however, I think the only way for the most compatible console is with a modchip. I believe there's some problems with pal games as well, so you need to jump another section for total compatibility.

I swear one of these days I'm going to stop buying camera lenses, sell some, and then get my shiz fixed. I swear.

Anyhow, here's a new one to consider:

Game Gear caps + TV OUT mod

It's an exotic one but I'd love to get that all done at once. (I believe) I have two GGs to service too.

Ed Oscuro and Starwander - I've done some further research into the Game Gear TV Out mod... It's definitely something I want to build and offer as a service, but it's honestly going to be awhile.

There are almost 50 components that go into the whole "circuit" you build, plus needing a custom RGB cable, plus needing a monitor/display that supports RGB...sounds like a big pain to me X_x

I'll play around with it eventually, but it will be awhile and it probably won't be one of my cheaper mods when it's ready. I'll make sure to post any updates about this service on my mods page whenever I can.

That is actually my SNES mini in the pic that Rai modded for me. He also did the exact same thing on my NES toploader, you can see some pics on his GTZ link in the first post.

Rai
10-25-2009, 04:41 PM
PSony - I can't remember if I pm'd you or not... Sorry if I didn't. There isn't too much in the mod department that I offer for the SCDs at the moment. I can swap out led lights for any color you want, but that's probably about it for now. Eventually I'll offer region mods, but it will be quite awhile still.

Soviet Conscript -I do RGB mods, but haven't on a CD-i yet. Seems like info is pretty hard to find on that procedure...if you happen to have info on it then I should be able to. I'll do some further research and see if I come across anything.

Rai

8James - Any major electronics parts company carries gold rca jacks. Don't look at Radio Shack/The Shack or small places though as you're not likely to find anything there.

Some jacks are a real pain to find anywhere though. S-video jacks that are gold are becoming like actual gold these days it seems. I can't even find reliable suppliers :(

Just a quick question: Where do you get the gold plated connectors?

For the s-video gold plated connector look here (almost at the very bottom):

http://www.showmecables.com/showProducts.asp?category_id=17445

is the "S-video female solder coupler" type, just remove it from the plastic base, comes with screw...

And Actually, RadioShack does carry the Gold plated RCA Jacks under:

Snap-in Jack for Red RCA plug, catalog/model #:278-2071

White RCA, catalog/part number: 278-2067

And Yellow RCA, part number: 278-2075

Hope it helps! ;)
