Insanity a Berzerk Clone for TG16/Super Cdrom

I hope that version of Evil Otto can be adjusted. The first few levels he pops out way too quickly, you don't even have time to finish off the robots before you have to run out of the room.

Yes otto is in test-mode right now and comes out quickly on the first level to verify hes not broken, and then stops coming out so you can test other things.

The poll I'm talking about is the "Do You Think The Movie Tron Can Revive Arcades?" and the misspellings are "Definately" which should be "Definitely", "Noway I hate those old games" should be "No way, I hate those old games", and "Whats Tron" should be "What's Tron?"

To be honest I found the beginning to be irritating, the song didn't get palatable until all of the instruments kicked in. I'd suggest "starting in the middle" if you're using this in the game.

Yup, that would be me. Actually been a member here longer, but yeah, I love Berzerk. As a matter of fact, I love the game so much that I actually designed the label for the reissue "Berzerk Arcade" for the 2600. I am looking forward to this release, should be lots of fun. Hit me with a PM on how you have been. Perhaps I could review this game in CVG Magazine when it's finished.

First things first, mr Roboto wont be in the final game. it was thrown in at the last minute to make the little youtube video more fun :-D

if i left it in the sellable one, id be sued so hard.


The release date is on or before October 24th. Its at the playtest/tweak/polish stage now, along with fixing any hiccups that occur on the way.

Looks awesome so far! I'm a huge fan of Berzerk, and this looks pretty faithful so far... though I miss the voice clips (I guess you can't have voice AND music though).

Are you planning on expanding it at all (powerups, different enemies, Frenzy, etc)? Or just trying to keep the gameplay as close to the arcade as possible? At the very least, I'd suggest changing up the background graphics every once in a while... even if it's just changing the colour palette every 10 levels or something.

theres voice clips! Wouldnt be berzerk without em. :) they are stored on the CD and played off the ADPCM chip.

the video is just a HuCard build so the sfx are missing. They are definitely there. its going to have voices, digital sfx, and the option of cd or chip music.
