I just conquered Zelda Wind Waker!

I don't know the names of the characters so I will call them whatever comes to mind.
How many Links have there been? Is this link just a reincarnation of all the others? Is the king dead or is he still alive? I think he is dead because at the end he is not drowning, but then again he is able to wish for a wish from the triforce. Where did the hero of time go to? Did he go to Majora Mask mission?
