It would make so much sence. i would not only be greatfor japaense sales but really worldwide.
shirink the 360 a few inches, slim it, remove the motor drive(so last gen) repalce with a slot drive, integrate the power supply, internal wifi and a bit quieter operation and BAM! you have a very sexy 360 slim! :)

waht do you guys think? good idea?

Microsoft likes everything big

and fragile sadly. Making it smaller would only make matters worse. O_O

Well, with the resulting redesign... They could possibly fix it. If it was cheaper to replace the broken units than correct the design from the outset, I don't see how that is possible. Fixing it and making it smaller could cost too much. Making Live a free service would probably be the most cost effective measure to take against Sony's new aggressive stance.

Kidding me? They can't get the regular size ones to run without overheating. Making the 360 smaller will make it spontaneously combust. Red ring of FIRE, anyone? :onfire:

I'll go along with built in wifi. When I get a new TV my PS3 will go to work as a blu-ray player which means I'll need another basement system....now that the PS3 as at a lower price I can't see getting a 360 and paying extra for wifi.

People have had enough problems with the original 360, not only are they going to purchase a new 360 prone to even more problems most likely, they're wasting more money on the system.

Those with a phat PS3 won't need to get a slim, so it's just the amount they paid original. Those with a 360 getting a slim 360 will be paying more just to not have a crappy unreliable system which will in turn most likely turn out unreliable.

If Microsoft can hire the engineers who do Sony's hardware revisions, it might work.

I can't believe they still charge $100 for wifi :bad-words:

i know i would love to have built in wifi on the 360, there is no way i will dish out 100 for the wireless adapter, the cheapest you can possibly get them is like $65 or 70. I already have an ethernet cable running across my basement to my xbox, which at the curren moment is not working because my router is messed uo, but i would pay maybe $25 for wifi, no more than that.

Or list a 120Gig HDD at 180 MSRP......

Both are bad news.

Microsoft isn't going to change the design until they run out of shells to recycle.

ehh, have you head of chip shrinking. you see if happens over tiem as tech gets cheaper. you see once opon a time computers were the size of a room. now you can get way beyond that tech in a pc that fits in your pocket :)

the ovr heatign issue has to do more with a defect. a slimmer system means the internals are smaller too you know. ever heard of dreamcast on a chip? nes on a chip? LOL
