View Full Version : Why hasn't Sony put at least 1 memory stick slot in the last few PS3 models!?

I can understand Sony not putting backwards compatibility in PS3's anymore if it's going to drive the cost up too high, but why can't they put one stinking memory stick slot in there?! It probably costs jack shit to do this, and I know I'm not the only person that likes taking save files over to a buddies place like created characters in Madden for example.

Word.

OR.... You can spend ten bucks for a USB thumb drive and never worry about having a memory stick. That's assuming you don't already have fifteen lying around your house.

Or run a USB from your PS3 to PC?

It looks like a decent device, but I've always been a little wary of after market manufacturers. I guess the USB drive is my best bet? I just wish Sony would add 1 lousy memory stick slot to the PS3, it probably wouldn't add to the cost of the machine at all.

Is there any reason to even complain about this? Truthfully, I completely forgot that my PS3 has memory slots until I saw this thread, I used it maybe once until I started using thumb drives. Universal card readers cost next to nothing now anyway and they work just fine.

I also don't think they're necessary on the PS3 anymore. I have a 60 gig version and while it's nice to use the SD slots to upload pictures on my PS3, I rarely ever use it.

I'd go with a USB drive if you want to transfer files as others have suggested.
