There is no Genesis/Megadrive SVideo option without modding that I know of.

It's going to probably be a lot easier to find someone to S-video mod an X'eye for you. There isn't a lot of working space inside of a CDX and the smallest of mods would likely get in the way of the inner workings of the system.

Dunno if he can do it, but might as well give him a PM and figure it out.

Rai, here's his thread

I have one, but the CD part no longer works :P

any-how, the CDX isn't the best genesis to mod, because of the small space for the mod, you get a lot of interference (some wavy lines and such).

I know the system is pretty sweet, and comes in a small package, but you might want to consider a model 1 genesis and model 2 CD for the best results.

What circuit are you using? There's no way the mod isn't small enough if you use the correct one. If your using this one, http://www-unix.ecs.umass.edu/~dhowland/mod/ , I could see why your having troubles. There's another version that requires a cap and a resistor for chroma, and a transistor and a resistor for luma. Very small, very simple.

sure, you could use that, but the image could be dim, and of lower quality.

besides, the CDX sucks for opening and closing, thats why most of the people who performed this mod don't do it anymore.

Here's a picture of the other circuit, the smaller one, there is nothing dim about it, http://i329.photobucket.com/albums/l370/Spazmonkey_Adam/Genesis%20Video%20Comparision%20Shots/IMG_1729.jpg

The resistor on the chroma line adjusts brightness.

If you were to examine the schematic for the first one, you will notice it's really very overcomplicated, and sports zero extra quality over the other.
