Wow...thats a...wow...Does Nintendo know about this? It actually looks fun though. I'd probably go on it. I seem to remember some kind of thing similar to this but it wasn't painted Mario.

My guess is this is completely unofficial--and I think this type of slide thing is a mainstay in most carnivals, but each one is painted differently. Has anyone actually seen a Mario one in person? (that is in their hometown as opposed to Florida).

I remember their always being a mario one at the fair when I was a kid (early 90s) was just thinking it would be cool to have set up in the back yard or maybe a big garage. Also yea its totally unofficial but still cool

At the end of the ride, a lawyer throws a subpeona at you as a souvenir.

Kotaku posted this last week. While I never saw the Mario ride at the Florida State Fair, I can say that these murals are quite common on "fun house" attractions. For example, I saw one with a depiction of Indiana Jones, though he looked Mexican with that mustache.

The "fun house" attraction at our fair this year was airbrushed with all kinda of Harry Potter-esqe graphics.

The Mario and Indiana Jones ones have been done before at the South Florida Fairgrounds (where that picture was taken). They update the ride graphics every few years based on what's popular. I haven't been back home when the fair's in town in a couple years though.

You're wondering if anyone here has a freaking carnival ride in their collection o_O.
As mentioned above, these arn't legit, just done by some carnival folk to have a better draw to the ride. I'd be more curious as to see if it's themed that way inside too.

you know that would be an awesome centerpiece to a collection, I've seen pics of some of the top dog collections and it wouldn't surprise me, I do believe they are themed inside as well but haven't been in one since i was like 6

My friends and I went in one about a year ago, and the airbrush work seemed limited to the outside. Inside it's always houses of mirrors, the rotating tube, that kind of stuff. We got our money's worth, and hung out on the top level for a while. Good times.

I just wanted to say you're welcome to my babies, and thank you. I knew you had to have edited the topic title from the moment I saw it ROFL

I was at the New York State Fair today (the big yearly one at Syracuse) and the same one mentioned in that blog was there! I could tell it's the same one as it had the tape covering the same spot on that pad to the right there. I'm guessing it probably makes it way around to all the big fairs in the USA.

Somebody should write a little "DP" on it somewhere so we can make sure if we happen to see it.

I think that thing was at the Pima County Fair in Tucson a couple years ago. Not sure if it was this year, I didn't go.

This reminds me of some kids fun park in the valley near where I live. It was Flinstones themed until HannaBarbera got wind of the illegal use of the Flinstones. It was like that for a couple decades at least too. LOL

They were probably getting jealous of the park's art budget.
