According to Gamespot, Ubisoft has delayed development indefinately. Here is the link:

Seriously, no one was going to buy this. I'm sure a few people here were interested, but the public at large? No way. Probably a smart move on Ubisoft's part.
This may just be a ruse by Ubisoft to distract people from the game and when everyone forgets about it they will reveal that they were indeed developing a sequel.

Because all those other companies were going to rush a spoiler to market first?
I don't really see it...people have had years to make clones of the original.
I should find a copy of the original and discover what the fuss is about, in any case.

Sounds like an idiotic sales strategy to me. Sega already tried the whole, "If no one knows about it we're sure to sell more!" plan with the Saturn launch. Might as well invade Moscow...

It's the finest 3D Zelda game ever made that doesn't have Zelda in the title.
It was rumored that Michel Ansel had threatened to quit if Ubisoft didn't let him make BG&E 2. I wonder how that's going to pan out.

Well, I for one was really looking forward to this game. I think I should play BG&E again in its honour. It's certainly one of my favourite games.

I was actually thinking of getting a PS3 just for this game! Well, and a few others, but mainly BG&E2!

Well damn I was really looking forward to BG&E2, the first game was so much fun and had great characters and an awesome story. Definitely gonna have to reinstall the first game and play through it again now.

Ubi indeed seems to have had something up their posteriors lately. All the Myst games were dropped off GameTap recently-ish, apparently due to Ubi being mad about getting dropped from the loop or something.
EA is actually looking fine right now, especially by comparison.
