If it's not up yet, scream like a banshee and demand a full refund.

It's been fine since around 6:30 Eastern.
Though, my recently aquired Batman trophies aren't reflected on the PSN or my portable signature ... that may be due to the maintenance.

You can only do that with XBOX Live. The PSN works good and is free, I don't mind maintenance every couple months.

Which is why I replied about it. His post meant "demand a refund even though it's free." Pretty much.
I was doing nothing more than throwing out there that you don't have to pay $50 a year to go online. For those of you who still use the ripoff XBL service. Not really in response to what Ed said, but more towards XBL itself and the fact that as long as it's free, Sony can do maintenance on it to make the service not suck.
*edit*
I see the post towards the 360 got you to respond though.

I meant a refund on the entire PS3 system, but yeah, you missed the point. ;)

I can just imagine someone actually going to an electronics store and trying to get a full refund on a PlayStation 3 because the free interactive chat room feature is down for maintenance... LOL

You use your PS3 and look on the PSN at the availiable games.

Um ...
... I'm not clear on what the PSN doesn't have that XBL has?
An on-line, off-console listing of games available?

*edit* Hmmm ... looks like it's not a complete listing, just newer releases ... yeah, guess you'll need to access the store from an actual PS3 to see everything that's on it.

You can activate the XMB dashboard while playing any game by hitting the home button on the PS3 controller.
From there you can you can send/receive text messages to/from any other PSN user.
Some games handle invites/invite accepts in-game, others require you to activate the XMB and invite the user from their account icon.
Some games have in-game chat A nice feature is that you can sync just about any wireless bluetooth microphone/headset with the PS3. Wired USB mics work fine too.
Currently there is no cross-game chatting like on XBL, though it'll probably come in a future update.

Here's a Wiki article displaying all games downloadable from the PSN. This list doesn't include PSX games but does include PS3, PSP, PSN, and TG16 games. Includes all games and also shows regions that they were released in.

oh cool. thanks for the link. while i was on wiki i compared the live arcade to psn and they both are quite good. i would be happy with either one. while live arcade did seem to have more classics and a few more games in general but psn was nice too.
