View Full Version : Can you have 1 PSN "account" between 2 PS3's?

I have my (almost) 3 year old 60 gig PS3 downstairs in my game room. I'm considering buying a PS3 Slim instead of a regular Blu-Ray player for our living room upstairs. Both PS3's will be hooked to PSN/internet at all times (this matters for 2 360's using the same gamertag...not sure if it matters for 2 PS3's).

Can I use the same profile/PSN account on both machines? I understand that saves are dedicated to each separate console (HD doesn't simply "come off" ala the 360).

I'm doubting anyone here has 2 PS3's yet, but I'm sure this issue has to come up sooner or later. Any knowledge is appreciated.

Yeah, you can have the account on 5 different PS3s. If you want it on more you'll have to deactivate one.

And I'm sure you can use the same save file on more than one console also, just plug a USB drive into it and copy the save.

I have 2 PS3's and yes, you can on 5 systems which will have to be activated/deactivated when or if ever using a 6th+ console.

Of course you can't log into the same profile at the same time on both, it will kick one off. You can download all your games onto both systems and you can use all of the same bought games with people on both systems at same time, but seperate psn accounts.

Warhawk is the only exception, it has a 24 hour lockout so that only one system can play it at a time. I just recently picked up a used Blu-Ray copy to counter this as it's now dirt cheap and the other person can in fact use your expansion packs which is great.

Thanks for the info guys. It sounds pretty damn user friendly.
