I watched ring 2 the other night and it really put me in the mood for a good scary game. yeah i know it's not as scary as the original or ringu(original jp veriosn is best) isn't there a new sequel to ringu out?

I was looking for a good scary horror/survival game on ps3 lately.you know...something that you can pop some popcorn, turn out the lights and cuddle up on the couch for a good epic scare. I'm talking edge of your seat, don't wana walk down that dark hallway, time to turn off the game scary LOL.

i went checking outsome review and then i came across a review of siren remake on ps3. my jaw dropped at the visuals!! :O niccccceeee! I had never heard of this game. it seems very original and very japaense....THAT'S A GOOD THING. it just looks like to puts the survival back in horror. seems the focus is more about running away trying to stay alive rather than face some hellish demon possessed person head on. i'm pretty excited about it just from the trailer and short video review.

what do you guys think? should i pick this game up? the retail version wasn't released in the states(adds extra collectable factor) but i can pick up the asian english language verison for about $35. should i grab it? is there a scarier game on ps3?

how would dead space or silent hill homecoming fare against this game? RE5 need not apply!!!

Please no spoilers

There's a demo on the US PSN store, you could give it a shot. It seemed pretty good.

If you're looking for good old Japanese horror with a confusing story, then Siren:Blood Curse is the game for you. I originally purchased it when it was first released on the US PSN, but eventually imported the Asian version to save some HDD space, so I would say import it if you can. The team that originally started Silent Hill made the Siren series, so I would say it's a hell of a lot better than the mess that was SH: Homecoming. The game's atmosphere is on par with Dead Space, but don't expect things to be popping out a every corner, but do expect to be running for your life on a few occasions.

The only other horror games on PS3 are Alone in the Dark, Vampire Rain (avoid both of those) and Condemned 2. Condemned 2 is a FPS brawler, meaning you mainly use your fists or whatever you grab as a weapon instead of a gun. I would pick this one up as well, one of the few great games Sega has released in a long time.

I'd definitely recommend Siren: Blood Curse. I picked it up at Play-Asia when it was on sale awhile ago because I didn't want to spend $50 on it. Play the demo. It's long enough to see what the game is like and how much you'll enjoy it.

It's sortof like a series based game where you play each character to a certain point, then it takes it to the perspective of a different character where they're at. You can watch pretty much every story video in the game over again after completion, and there is an inventory menu which gives you details on every item you've found in the game as well as characters.

This review is probably the best review the game could ever receive. If you're on edge picking the game up, then watching this will probably have you just get it. If you get the disc version which is in UK and Asian territories in English, then you don't need to waste space on your HDD(and possibly find it cheaper.)

I'll be buying this soon because the demo was fun. Hopefully I enjoy the full game.

Here are some funny videos showing some guy playing the beginning (Or demo?) of the game. Don't worry though, it mostly shows him and not the game:

Play-Asia only has their "the best" versions available for $34.90 for the Asian version(in English.) When you pay with a Visa for their summer sale, you'll receive 20% off so you'll get it for $27.92 + shipping instead.

kupomogli, i saw that same interview. i'm sold. I want! i want!! LOL Is this a remake of siren or siren 2 on ps2? i thought about picking up the ps2 game that this isn't based on. any good? are the two games connected to the story?

I was watched the first 40 or so minutes of silent hill the movie last night and it was pretty good. the siren alram from silent hill reminded me of the siren sound from the eding of the siren ps3 trailer. again no spoilers please.

The game is a more of a re-telling than a re-make of the original Siren for PS2. In it's own right, Siren was a good game, it just got extremely difficult and unforgiving at times. From what I understand Siren 2 fixes a lot of the issues that Siren had and is pretty good as well, the downfall is it was never released stateside, but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for a last minute release, or even a release on the PSN. It was released in Europe tho, but you'd need a European/modded PS2 to play it in the states.

That's not a coincidence, Team Silent (makers of Silent Hill) actually makes the Siren series.

Where can i find this game? checked ebay but all of them are from china sellers. Aren't there some north american import shops selling it? Are there any U.s based shops stocking the asia version?
