An anonymous reader writes "Nintendo has released an update for the Wii Internet Channel (a version of the Opera browser). It is now a free download (if you already paid for it, you get a free NES game), and finally supports Flash 9 content after being limited to Flash 7 ever since it was launched in late 2006."http://games.slashdot.org/slashdot-it.pl?from=rss&op=image&style=h0&sid=09/09/02/0252231 (http://games.slashdot.org/story/09/09/02/0252231/Nintendo-Releases-Wii-Browser-For-Free-Updates-Flash?from=rss)

I find that doubtful, things like Hulu that require Flash 9 still don't work after deleting and reinstalling the program.

Edit - According to the message Nintendo sent out to the Wii's inbox about the update and free game offer, it was updated to Adobe Flash Lite 3.1, which they say is the equivalent of Flash 8.

So still no Flash 9 support despite what the media is saying, so things like Hulu still don't work.

Well, at least the NES game will work. LOL

Did they also update keyboard compatibility? Now it has a keyboard icon in the list of supported controllers, and says it can use generic USB keyboards. I don't remember seeing that before. I know it's supported some keyboards for a while, but I don't recall there being any mention of it in the channel description.

From what I can remember, it was listed in the instructions that a USB keyboard could be used, but it didn't have it's own icon till now.

I've been using a USB keyboard since the first version and each update has made it better. I had virtually no lag on the new version.
