Hey there, I'm new to the Digital Press forums, and I wanted to share a curiosity with you guys, maybe someone has any idea of what's going on:
I've had a SNES Mk2 for about 2 or 3 years now, it plays games perfectly, but it has problems with some, particularly those that use the FX chip, Star Fox shows some heavy lines of resolution (like when you film a regular TV), and Stunt Race FX just plays for a few seconds, then it resets. I have the same problem that I have with Star Fox with some other games, like Chrono Trigger, but the problem with Star Fox is much more severe.
Someone told me it was probably because it was a clone, but I opened it to check and it was not the case...

I'm not really trying to fix it, it's not THAT much of a problem, and I have two other regular SNES to play, but I'm curious, has anyone ever seen anything like this?
BTW, it's not the games, I tried them on another SNES and they work perfectly.

The FX games use the extra cart pins, which would suggest a problem with the connector in the system. If it's an early model SNES the 62-pin connector can be easily replaced similar to a NES 72-pin.

Have you tried to clean the cartridge connector,it could be dirty and just need a quick clean.

A easy fix is to use a wrap a wet cloth around a credit card and slide it in the cartridge connector back and forth.

Well, it's a Model 2, so that shouldn't be a problem...

Heh, you know, I never really thought about that, I always clean the games, but never the connector... I will give it a try and let you guys know.
