I bought a copy of Maxi-15 on eBay a while back now, I think the BIN was $10 even after shipping. Not bad I thought. I was just checking past auctions though, and I noticed that one went for $50 loose, where as this even has the box. My question is though, how much is the HES version worth compared to the AVE one. I've got a HES copy here.

Also, I'm confused to see that Menace Beach is in the HES version. Wasn't that a Color Dreams game, or am I all messed up? Are the games on this version different than the AVE release? This one has F-15 City War, Puzzle, Death Race, Tiles of Fate, Krazy Kreatures, Blackjack, Dudes with Attitude, Venice Beach Volleyball, Stakk'm, Deathbots, Rad Racket Deluxe Tennis II, Chiller, Solitaire, Menace Beach, and Shockwave.

Also, if anybody has this complete, does this come with a manual? Mine has a piece of paper describing how to bypass the NES security (the HES version has a cartridge slot on top of the game). Also, did all versions of this game come with the ugly plastic case? This almost looks like it should be one of those books-on-tape or something.

The HES version isn't as desired as the AVE version. It'll still get the job done.

For info on the CD/AVE content, check out http://www.nesworld.com for more info. Martin goes into great lengths on AVE. The games are the same, loose or on the Maxi15.

The AVE version came in a sleek black clamshell type case, with manual. The HES version probably came in the standard HES case, which, as you said, looks pretty bad.

I have a complete copy of this and it comes in the black snap-lock plastic case with a shiny "Maxi-15" label on the front and a glued illustrated piece of paper on the back. It does indeed have a kinda thick manual, too. The cart sits inside a black foam insert with a cutout in the middle and also came with a glossy Maxi-15 sticker.

My complete one cost me like 30 something last year.

The only Maxi I've ever seen has "wing tips".

Ewww...

Yeah the AVE version is more desired but from personal expierence I feel the HES version is slightly rarer..
