I recently got an Atari Lynx and the screen has several lines of dead pixels. I was wondering what could be causing the problem, and if this is a common problem for this system. Could this be easily repaired? If anyone has any info about this I'd greatly appreciate it.

If you press on one of the sides next to the row of dead pixels do they return?

Is it the 1'st or second model? I don't know if that makes a difference as far as what's wrong with it but the 1'st model is much easier to open up. For the second model you peel the rubber pads off the bottom and remove the screws underneath and in the battery compartment. I know lines going out are common on Game Boys and there's no easy way to fix it outside of replacing the screen/board.

No, I haven't been able to get the lines to show up.

It's a model 2, I was kind of hoping it would be a simple fix. It's not just one line, it's several so it's pretty much non-playable(at least not enjoyable).
