Hysterical stuff...

Are we under one of Bowser's spells? A basic human need like health care should not be monetized. Even our pack dinosaurs and humanoid mushrooms deserve coverage—a healthy workforce generates more points and 1-ups, increasing the chances of long-term gameplay for everyone. That's pretty clever stuff, but Dr. Mario's M.O. has always been just to chuck medicine at the problem and hope it goes away. He's one to talk about monetizing the system! Can you say kickbacks, boys and girls...

seriously, every time he kills off a series of viruses, they simply reform with 4 more viruses than the last time

the sad truth about dr mario, the viruses always win, the patient always dies

Dr Mario isn't a real doctor.

So don't let him see you naked.

I can vouch for Dr. Mario being a real Doctor. We went to medical school together! Good times at Degree Mill College, I miss those days.

And yeah, great article. I can't say much about health care, but this was an interesting and funny read. Obviously Mario never heard of the Blood Plague Incident in WoW.

I'm suspicious of Dr. Mario touting World of Warcraft's "efficient administration." Did he forget the Plague of Corrupted Blood? (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/4272418.stm)

And I hope I don't even have to touch on SimCity's "better" healthcare. Who cares if you've got good hospitals when the nuclear power plant next door just exploded and a giant lizard is running down your street?

And I hope I don't even have to touch on SimCity's "better" healthcare. Who cares if you've got good hospitals when the nuclear power plant next door just exploded and a giant lizard is running down your street? But in SimCity, hospitals just appear, without any addtional money or governmental consideration at all! ;)

[In the Macintosh version of SimCity, you can bulldoze individual buildings in a Residential zone without blowing up the zone entirely. I once watched someone bulldoze most of a zone, leaving only the R in the middle, and then build a train track around the R, and then trap a train car on the circuit - and then, of all ironies, the zone became a hospital and wiped it all out! I guess you just had to be there.]

I was about to say, before I read your post - suddenly I decided there needed to be a railway around it. That being from the Win95 version of SimCIty. Yeah, you had to be there. :P
