Can I have any advice on replacing the control panel overlay on an arcade system?

What material would be best? I would like just a solid color or simple dark pattern, but I can't figure out what material would work. What's on there now seems heavier than the contact paper they sell in hardware stores, but I don't really need the expensive graphic overlays sold on ebay.

Any ideas on what I should be lookin for?

This stuff works well.
It's thicker than contact paper, but not as tough as a real overlay.
But the price is right...2 x 10 feet for $13.00 + ship
