I have recently acquired a "fat" style Nintendo DS that doesn't charge the battery when the charger is plugged into it. The battery inside is new and the charger is good (tested with my multimeter and another DS). The charge light doesn't light up when the charger is attached. Does anyone have any ideas what I might look for to figure out what's wrong with this or what I might do to get it working again?

Do you have another ds of that type, was going to suggest popping the battery from that one in to the other one and charging it there. Could be a loose contact internally causing it.

Dealextreme also sells external battery chargers.

It could be a loose connection, I have an Advance SP that only charges if I prop something under the plug and keep some weight onto the system. It only works if pressure is put onto the connection a certain way.

I can only go with what others said, try reconnecting the battery or making sure the connection is good. Also, if this is not an official battery that may be a problem. Nintendo still sells them on their online store.
