View Full Version : Good idea for storing Turbografx/PC Engine games...

I realized that it might be a good idea to use a baseball card holder for storing loose HuCards. Of course I expect the pages to become quite thick when you have many tucked away at once, because they are made from solid plastic, but I can't imagine any dangers about it. Can you think of any major downsides to this, and has anyone else here considered it? I tried to fit one of them in my Pokemon card binder and it seemed to fit just fine.

I assume you are talking about the platic pages that you can fit in a 3 ring binder. The Hu cards will fit but are heavy and the plastic on those pages are quite thin. I would imagine picking up the binder the pages would bend pretty bad and hang out of the bottom from the weight. But yes I have heard of people doing this before.

Maybe old floppy disc binder pages. I have some of those for no particular reason (lol, best just to stack them).
I have a Sega card holder ("Card Holder Type-1 C-1001" what a unique part number) but unfortunately no loose cards that need a home in it. :p

Gamestop sells these tiny dvd-like case things as "giftcard holders". I think with minimal modification they would fit a Hucard perfectly. This would be neat if anyone ever gets into Hucard repros (is that even possible/feasable?). If you are hard up to protect a certain few i think those cases would work pretty well.

You can always use plain jewel cases, sand down the center hub with a Dremel type of sander, then glue some foam or something similar into the tray. Then cut out a space for the HuCard. I used to do that to store my Lynx games, but having to slice a notch into the CD tray with a Dremel to fit the curved lip of Lynx carts. And I found some packaging foam that was the right thickness to fit inside a jewel case. Then I scanned in all my Lynx boxes and printed covers.
