Fair price for a Genesis 3 in the wild?

A very nice friend of mine bought me a Genesis 3 at a flea market we went to today as an early christmas gift. He paid $35 for it? Aside from Ebay, what are these worth in the wild now?

In the wild, I'd figure $20-$25 at most. The only time I've ever given more for one in the wild was a CIB in brand-new condition (very well might have been brand new...gave $32 and change for it). Very rarely do I see them at all, but when I do, they're usually $20 or so.

over 5 years of garage sales and flea markets i have acquired about 5-6 of them. They are fairly common imo.

I'd still price them at $5. Not paying more for one than for a PlayStation (then again, I think I still have at least a dozen models of Genesis here and there).

I paid a few shekels for a boxed Genesis 3 a number of years ago on this site. Probably around the estimates being bounced around here. I got a second one as well, somehow or other (probably off DP again).

I imagine it will only just keep its value, or even decline, since word has been getting out what a piece of crap it is. I wouldn't be surprised if somebody would balk at $15 for an unboxed one. I know I would - you can get what, two Genesis 2's for that price, if not more.

I sold mine for like 10 dollars with games haha. Maybe 5 I was younger and stupid. :(

I see, I bought one from Toys R Us about that time roughly for $20 and was thinking that was retail, must have been marked down to $20 at some point at TRU, either that or a universal drop to $20 at some point.

I've only seen a couple of them around here whereas I always see Genesis 1 & 2 consoles. I'd say $20 as well since that's what I saw them going for. Usually without games a Genesis would go for $5~10, but I almost never see people selling them w/o games. The few Gen 3s I've seen were at yard sales and anywhere from $15~20 and no games, which is kinda weird (unless someone scooped up the games before I got there).

Theres a shop around here that sells them for $30 but i wouldn't pick one up unless it were marked at $10 or less.
