Hopefully they have at least one stage with the original music just for the sake of being nostalgic, maybe even a run in with their pixilated 8-bit personas, kinda like what was done in Super Mario RPG, heh.

It was in development for the DS, but that was canceled.

Leave it to WayForward to take an NES game that I absolutely hated and turn it into something that I've put on my "must-buy" list.

I wish that the blob could turn into more than 15 things. It doesn't seem like very many to me. For my tastes I would have him turn into 50+ but only have 15-20 be useful or have some do similar things but be different items just for an example: blob could turn into a bucket, cup or bowl. Sure they all do the same thing but they'd all look different and you'd use different jelly beans for each.

Almost makes me want to buy a Wii.

Looks and sounds a bit familiar. :)

Seems it is missing a few of the sound effects, mainly the trampoline makes no sound and the transforming sound isn't as cool. Though the whistling is still there.

At $40 it seems like a good deal, of course I am one of the few that loved the first game.

I thought everybody liked the original. I never knew there were any haters. I loved the mofo.

I enjoyed it more than Pitfall! and it was a huge improvement than the same scenes repeated over and over. I guess you would have had to play those type of games and appreciate the step forward of the time.

It seems some didn't appreciate it though and I guess thought it was frustrating or boring as Mario was the next big thing at the time. The game was always a favorite of mine, though Out of This World and Flashback were also awesome and along the same lines of action/adventure gaming.

Action/Adventure seems to be a hybrid mixed up genre these days, but this is one of the best examples of a true straight forward one.

Going to be a GAC's Pick tomorrow, but here is a sneak peak if you want to save some cash, you can preorder it on Amazon by clicking the box art below:

But you don't get your own blob that way...

I have a lot of memories of the original. I didn't discover it until the mid 90s when I started getting into NES collecting. A video store was closing and selling their old rentals, and I thought the name was ridiculous. I never finished the game, but I managed to have fun doing stupid things like popping Blobert underwater and throwing him as a coconut into places I could never get him back from. It always seemed a bit too tedious to put real time into, though.

I love the art direction on this one. The animation is simply beautiful, and the trailer is really a nice piece of animation alone. My only hesitation is the Flash look that the gameplay has. I'm sure it's better when you're actually playing it, but it's hard for me to accept something on a console that looks like it belongs in a web browser.

I think I'm going to go for it, the squishy blob is making the choice easier.

All I can say is I am very excited for this game. I had a fondness for the original on the NES as well.

well i got this game the day it came out- the gamestop acouple miles from me was the only store that had one, and i literally mean one, got the preorder bonus too (a blob stress ball)

i havent had this fun with a game in awhile, its very soothing, exciting and endearing all at the same time. it also got great reviews. its head and shoulders above its predecessor. i also love the fact that theres one button reserved soley for hugging your blob.

I forgot to preorder... >_<

Checked every store in the area, except the two in Countryside Mall (I'll check those soon), but the actual blob is nowhere to be found. The stores here in Largo each got one or two, but only if they had preorders. The other stores got ZERO, because they had no preorders. They did, however, have an overabundance of Ben 10 backpacks and blue furry things, which I have no use for.

I'm going to wait for it to go down a bit, mainly because it doesn't seem to be worth $40 without the blob.

They must have seriously fubared something. It's not available anywhere and the Amazon page says preorder for November 15.

I never saw it in any of the game shops I visited when over in the US last week. But it's definitely available at online retailers such as Tronix and VG+ so go order there I suppose if you can't find it elsewhere. That's how I got my copy of Blast Works and Ultimate Shooting Collection.

I just picked my copy up at my local Best Buy and there were plenty left... perhaps is a regional shortage?

I absolutely hated the NES game, but I've heard so much praise for this game I figured I'd give it a chance (and support 2-D gaming, while I'm at it).

The original game was a neat idea, but it was relatively boring. I rented it as soon as it was available back in the day. I completed the game, but only thanks to almost complete walkthroughs via magazines.

I picked it up at EB Games for my pre-order copy, they got 3 in and all 3 were reserved. Also got the Blob stress ball to add to my collection of stress balls.....which atm I own 20 with mostly just my favorite sports teams & different places I been thru out the states. Anyway game is still in wrap as I been to hooked to Uncharted 2 & Kingdom Hearts 358/2 lately. Hope to start it up this weekend, maybe after I go see Saw VI friday for something a bit different after seeing a horror movie....that will only change if I don't go out after the movie and pick up the game. I played my brother's PS3 version and really enjoyed it.
