If you HAVE done it, what can you tell me about the ending when you knock him off the platform ?

I didn't use emulation or a genie, but I did use a turbo controller to charge up strong punches. After you finally knock him off the platform, you have to pick up the dip gun once it starts firing and use it on Doom while he lays on the ground.

I remember getting to the end of this game and not being able to defeat Doom, I tried for quite a while until I just turned the game off. It's a shame really, other than the ridiculous fight with Doom, the game really wasn't that bad. The ending isn't worthwhile for the bullshit you had to do to get it, but it's an ending nonetheless, just watch it on youtube like I (and I'm sure many others) have done.

I managed to take out the judge even at a very early age(around age 7 or 8).

The trick I used as a kid?

Use your pinky finger to jam on the punch button, and try to predict when Doom is going to come running up to you with his uppercut. When you think he's going to attack you just run away as quick as you can into your 'safely zone'.

Why did I use my pinky finger to hit the button? Because every other finger was too fast and I ended up just jumping in place. Of course, you can just learn to time your punches by getting more well-adjusuted to the punching mechanics, as I have done since I've gotten older. As a child, I didn't realize that the punching mechanic worked AFTER you release the button. So you're basically pushing the button to build up strength, and you release the key ever so slightly to throw a massive punch, but you have to push the button AGAIN very quickly as to not lose all of the strength that you've managed to build up.

Confusing? Very.

But the key to beating Doom is to master using your punches. And exploding cigars and bombs take a little bit of damage as well. So, hopefully that helps.

Edit: The daggers he throws from his eyes? You can actually block those with a well-timed punch. But it's tough. Good luck.

I believe all you have to do is hold down the button and it will shoot the dip out automatically.

Make sure you actually select the dip canon first, of course. I've died many times by making that careless mistake.

First, grab the canon. Then, select it.

Then go down the ladder and position yourself towards Doom. And hold the button down and blow him away. If you do it fast enough, it should be easy.

I can't remember if you can simply hold the button down or not, but I'm pretty darn sure. If not, just rapidly mashing the button should work easily. Then again, my thumbs are fast as hell from playing so many shooters over the years....
