View Full Version : We're being blessed with no less than FOUR Military Madness/Nectaris TBS games in '09

This is the year for fans of Hudson's turn-based strategy classic Nectaris aka Military Madness, originally released for the NEC PC-Engine in late 1989 in Japan and TurboGrafx-16 in early 1990 in the U.S.

In 2009 there are no less than FOUR Military Madness games being released on various platforms. Two have been released, two more coming soon.

1.) Military Madness 2 - A straight port of the 1994 PC-Engine Super CD-ROM sequel, Neo Nectaris, for cell phones, with a few minor changes for the tiny screen. Already released.

2.) Military Madness for Android - An enhanced port of the first game for Android OS based handhelds with upgraded 2D visuals and touch control. Already released (AFAIK).

3.) Military Madness: Nectaris - A totally complete remake of the first game in 3D for XBLA, PSN and WiiWare. The XBLA version is coming September 30th.

4.) Military Madness: Neo Nectaris - An enhanced port of Neo Nectaris / Military Madness 2 with upgraded 2D visuals for iPhone and iPod Touch.

Too bad three of them are for phone services. Would be nice to get a DS/PSP Nectaris sometime.

It really is nice to see so many re-boots/re-imaginings of TG-16/PC Engine properties lately.

I'm still holding out for an updated version of Kato & Ken.

We got enough MM ports as it is. I call it a blessing when they bring Neo Nectrasis for console/handheld, we've waited long enough.

Yes it really would. there was supposed to be a Nectaris game for PSP a few years ago. It hasn't materialized yet.

I think an online/wireless DS >< WiiWare Nectaris would be awesome.

I love MM for the TG-16, so I am very excited for this to be released with online play on the 360/PS3. Hudson should focus on updating and bring more of their series to current gen systems (bonk anyone?)

Yawn most of those release are for cell phones or the ipod pass.Though i'm inerested in the remake for the XBLA,Wiiware and PSN though.

BTW the Wii Ware version of the remake is now due in November. Looks like I'll be getting the XBLA version which should be out in 10 days or so.

I'll wait for the PS3 version myself...but I'd much rather have it on the DS or PSP.
