I trust you guys more than gamefaqs.

I am thinking about going and buying these.

I like graphic adventures but ONLY if there is some ADVENTURE to it.

If anyone has played these, do they involve choices/action/interacton, or are they mostly just.... tap the screen, and read stuff and move on?

How would it compare to Snatcher?

Or even a hentai one like Dividead or true love?

I dont want to buy two "adventure" games that are mostly me reading a bunch of crap without getting to pick whats going on.

Lux Pain is virtually incomprehensible. I found I couldn't get into it or figure out quite what the heck was going on. I might give it another try down the road....but I'd say only grab it if it's cheap.

Time Hollow is REALLY good though. It's a graphic adventure with multiple options. Not quite on the level of Snatcher or anything, but it's got a few places where you can do what you want and talk to different people in different orders, skip sub-scenes, etc. You do get multiple convo choices too. On par with most graphic adventures though, once you've gone everywhere and talked to most everyone, they all say the same things of course, until you figure out EXACTLY what you need to do.

The good thing about Time Hollow is that it doesn't lead you by the hand...at ALL. It's pretty tough to figure out what to do in it now and again, and can even get frustrating when you think you haven't missed anything but there's that tiny thing that HAS to be done to progress the story. Also, the music is flat-out kick ass. If you like graphic adventures....I'd definitely recommend it. It's in my top 15 or so DS games for sure. Good story too, if a bit odd. Definitely a bit Japanese for the story...but the character development is really good too.

ah cool. Time Hollow sounds like it will be worth grabbing then.

I haven't heard great things about Lux Pain anywhere, but the damn screen shots look ok.

Its hard for a adventure game to look bad in screenshots though.... -_-

Lux Pain isn't really a bad game, but it's got one of the worst translations I've seen in years, so it's pretty hard to recommend it considering it's a visual novel.

Lux Pain is the worst game I've played in the last couple years.

I love adventure games! I love mysteries! I love point and click! I was sure I would love Lux Pain. It is awful. There is very, very little about it which constitutes a game, the story makes no sense, and the mystery is non-existent. The dialogue makes no sense. Instead of being an actual mystery with actual clue-gathering, people just randomly become infected and you cure them. And... nothing you talk about with the other characters seems to matter.

The whole game is going in circles, it's hard to get a grasp on anything, and the mini-game where you use the stylus to zap the parasite things is mindless, repetitive, and not fun. It wouldn't be fit for Warioware.

I almost finished Lux pain except for a near impossible battle near the end. Time Hollow however was great and I may play it again sometime
