I've been having alot of ps3 questions lately(mostly cause I don't have one right now) because I wanna take full advantage of it. Anyways:

does the web browser support flash
if I instal Linux on a PS3 that allows me to can I download a flash game of some sort or like a free MMO
Can I use a normal USB mouse and keyboard to use with the web browser

I'll think of more...

I'll think of more...

1. Yes, the current version supports a late version of Flash 9, robust enough to support HD video full screen, not enough to play most complex flash games.

2. Uncertain.

3. Yes, PS3 supports just about any standard USB mouse or keyboard.

Can you use a bluetooth mouse/keyboard as well?

Can you use a bluetooth mouse/keyboard as well?

Yes, some models will work.

You'll have to "register" them in the bluetooth accessory section of the XBM.

Found a very short list of "confirmed" bluetooth keyboards and mice that work, but I'm sure that more do work, it's just a matter of trial to find out what does/does not.

Logitech MX900 Bluetooth Cordless Optical Mouse
Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5000 Laser
Logitech diNovo Edge
Microsoft Optical Desktop Elite
Dell Bluetooth Keyboard/Mouse combo

I don't know personally, but supposedly most Bluetooth mouse and keyboards work. According to Google atleast.

As far as I know, the PS3 can use any USB device that does not require additional drivers. I think someone mentioned using a Logitech PS2-esque controller on their PS3 to play games. Unfortunately an Xbox 360 controller won't work as it requires additional drivers.

So yes, you can play games with a keyboard, but it may be harder to play it than with a controller. I've never tested either of these things though so realize ymmv.

I know generic USB keyboards and mice work, as I was using them to install YDL at one time.

Yeah, I've got a Saturn USB pad and you can use it to play games on the PS3. Guess it makes sense other USB controllers would work too but I haven't tried yet.

Reports are that they do work with PS3 games (like Street Fighter 4 which will accept pretty much anything you throw at it) but not PS1/PS2 games which need you to press the PS Button to activate it.

For PS1/PS2 games on PS3 that need you to push the PS button to recognize the controller - you can get a PS1/PS2 controller (I think they made a Saturn PS2 controller) and a USB adapter that has a PS button built in like this :

I use a USB wrist keyboard while playing Metal Gear online. It makes me feel like Akiba.

once you intall linux, it comes a full featured pc. so you can get anything to work. however keep in mind you cannot play ps3 games. you cannot have both, the sony OS and linux.

its not removable in any easy way. im sure if you take the whole thing apart and do some seriously prying you can do it. it would probably be easier to just coat the thing with a primer marker and then coat it was a black paint marker.

That's not true. You partition a certain amount of memory for the Linux operating system. You can switch back and forth to and from both operating systems. You can't use both at once though.

Regardless though, Linux isn't really worth it on the PS3. If you're on this forum you most likely have a PC, just stick with that. Linux on the PS3 will work with emulation, streaming, etc, but you won't be able to play any PC games that have any sort of heavy graphic capabilities. I'd say not to bother, but whatever.
