I was debating whether or not to put this in the Classic or Modern gaming, but since i do enjoy classic gaming a great deal more, I put it here.

What are some Action Adventure/City Sim games out there? I appear to enjoy this genre (i out of the blue grabbed ActRaiser off the Wii Shop Channel, loved it, and decided to buy an original copy)

I would like some help in finding some games similar to the three I already know to be such (although there are quite possibly could be a couple games I may have forgotten and/or didn't know I even had)

SNES
ActRaiser

PlayStation 2
Dark Cloud
Dark Cloud 2

ActRaiser 2 is not in this subgenre, unfortunately.

Hmm, I recall ogling the box for some wacky PC format God Game years ago, no idea what it had going on in the simulation department. Advertised itself as "you take over the badmans and make them shoot each other," yee-haw.

ActRaiser 2 also sucks in the gameplay department as well. I've only played it a few times, but man I hate the game. Graphically looks amazing, but it's a crap game to me.

ActRaiser is a great game, but it's a more primitive version of Sim City as you don't get an option where to build any of your stuff and actually seems like a tactical RPG where you decide you want to send the peopel you control this way, etc, while protecting them as an angel. The action/platforming aspect is the best part of the game though.

Anyways. As for a game that is similar, however not an action/adventure, I'd say Azure Dreams. Azure Dreams is an RPG that plays like the Chunsoft Mysterious Dungeon RPG games, such as Pokemon, Torneko, Chocobo, Shiren, etc. Anyways, outside of the dungeon is a town. Now most places are in set spots which you can't do anything with, but you can pay money to increase the size of your home and you can get multiple places constructed around the town which you get to choose the place you want them at. You can also purchase stuff for your house or get this motorcycle type thing to ride around town.

Check out The Horde. It came out on 3DO and Saturn (I prefer the 3DO version) as well as, I guess, PC. Has an action-rpg style fighting engine as well as town building and such.
