i've had this cart for a while now, i was wondering if it is a proto, and if so if it's worth selling?
Having a bit of clean out, would like to hold on to it, but if it's worth something i'd rather sell it to be honest.
It was tatty when i got it many years ago, and it's seen a lot of play, so the cart isn't it great shape.
I don't have any other copy of the game to compare to, but playing it emulated it appears to be the same, as far as i can tell.

Label looks legit, seen that on other carts before. Pretty sure that means it's a pre-release copy.

Certainly legit, however, would you really expect there to be many differences? Now, a Contra Spirits prototype would be far more interesting, as that could have early version changes.

As the others have said, I've seen the same type label and agree that it is legit. That is a good point to bring up Evan, definitely would have some truth there.

So seeing as it is ikely to be the same as the retail release, if i were to stick it on ebay, what could i expect to get for it?

I would first make sure that there are no differences in the game. Regardless of what anyone says, there could easily be differences when compared to the released version. Little things like fonts, dates, and logos are often different in prototypes, even ones that are nearing completion.
With that being said, PAL SNES games do not tend to command a premium. I would guess this game would sell between $80-$125 when listed on eBay. Possibly more if someone if extremely interested in the title in general.
