The Logitech cordless precision is a great controller. I've been using one for a couple years now and it's never given me any problems. And it doesn't cramp my hands up like the Dual Shock 2's do:

I think Sony makes a wireless Dual Shock 2 but I don't know much about it.

The officially licensed Katana Force 2 Wireless Controller has taken the crown away from Logitech's effort which had many durability issues.

I've been using the Logitechs for years....best wireless PS2 controller IMO...and I've yet to have had any durability issues with mine.

Mine works fine too, but every board I frequent has quite a few threads like these:

I've got one of the older Logitech Wireless Action controllers which was horrible. The thing would always have problems connecting to the wireless receiver when I powered the system on, so I'd have to keep resetting the power until it finally connected. Then after a while, something happened to one of the analog sticks and now it's acting like I'm always pressing 'up' on it. So it's basically useless now. I bought it new and rarely used it too. :-/
The Cordless Precision is a different story though. Never has problems connecting to the receiver and feels much more solid than the Wireless Action controller.

I have the newest logitech wireless controller. It has great vibration and great battery life, but the analog sticks bugged me. For games where you need to move them fast and precisely your hands slip off of it way too much. So I stopped using it.
I just use a controller extenstion wire now on my normal controllers.

ya the nice logitech ones that are out there are good. They just feel nice and you can tell they are high quality when you look at one.

To me, the analogy sticks are a lot like metaphors. :)
Seriously though, I've got one of the Logitech PS2 wireless controllers. On the one hand I love it and think it feels and plays great. I don't do fighters, though, so I can't speak to its suitability for those.
On the other hand, I'm on my second controller due to the first breaking down. My first controller, as was referenced previously in this thread, saw the plastic base of one of the thumbsticks disintegrate. This was through normal gameplay and/or age, not a result of any sort of abuse. We aren't talking any violent passionate gameplay either - I was casually rolling around in Katamari Damacy. I called Logitech to inquire about warranty replacement or a replacement part, and was told the controller was over 4 years old, and would have been eligible for a free replacement if it had been up to one year old. Of course the replacement part wasn't for sale.
Aside from that though I like the controller very much. At the time I wasn't aware of the Katana model, so I bought a replacement Logitech.

Lol yes, I made a typo. I liked the logitech controller for slower paced games like sniper elite and god of war, but when playing first person shooters those analog sticks feel really akward and cause your fingers to slip off a lot.

The logitech wireless controllers are almost perfect except for the d-pad. It is cheap and flimsy and I had to replace 2 of them because of the d-pad. They claim the d-pad won some kind of award but I find that laughable.
The Katana's seem really good at first, but then someone pointed out that you cannot move diagonally with the d-pad. He was referring to his experience with a retro game. I could not believe it, I tried it out for myself and he was right. The way the d-pad is designed does not allow for diagonal movement.
Its too bad no one could come up with an adapter that lets you use a dualshock 3 on a ps2 or ps1.
There was a wireless controller that seemed perfect but I could never find one. It was called the AIR STYLE. It got really good reviews all across the board. It also made a crazy claim of 1000 hours of battery life.
Sega even put the controller out under its own name as The Surfwave. I wanted one of these really bad but I don't think it ever made it to the US.
