Wasn't sure what thread to put this in but it's more MAME related so I put it here. I picked this up at goodwill because it was cheap. It had a USB plug so I was hoping I could get it to work on the PC but turns out it's for the PS2. I don't really know anything abut all this "newfangled" stuff and I wasn't able to find much on the net. Does anyone know if it's possible to get one of these working with MAME? Also, how does the composite video plug play into it?

If I'm not mistaken no USB device made specifically for the PS2 works on a PC without a bit tinkering or homemade drivers, from what i recall someone telling me a few years back.

Try searching for "guncon 2 PC driver" - there were some out there a few years back, bit i don't know if they still exist...

I believe what you're looking for is called "WinGun." I had a heck of a time finding it, so if you can't, I'll send you the program.

The way I had mine running was from the PC's composite video out cable thing into a TV, and it worked fine.

Thanks, I'll check those sites and software out. It looks like I probably would have found more on my own if I would have searched for Guncon but I didn't make the G/C connection.
