Hi,
The system is boxed, near mint with controller, game and all manuals.
The system has been powered on 1 time.. not sure if that means it is "used" or not.
From what I gather, there are only 2 known Hello Kitty Xbox systems out there... but what do I know? :)

Although I can't help you on the price, I can assure you there are way more than 2 of these out there.

Actually, this one makes 2 known copies. This was a HK exclusive that you only got from one retailer for buying a fancy TV and once the TV was bought, you had the opportunity to get the XBox.. Production numbers were very guestimated very low. ProgrammingAce has the other 'known' one.
I think because its such a one off item, that the demand will dictate the price. Get a few Xbox people who really want all the systems together and you might make out like a bandito.

I want this. I wouldn't pay too much for it. But gosh darn it. I want it.

Thanks for the responses!
The thing is that I don't know many people on DP outside of the NWCGE folks.
What is the proper way to identify the xbox collectors and let them know that I am trying to find out the value of the system?

There's a hell of alot more than 2 known copies. There used to be several for sale for not that much money on Yahoo! Singapore (back when those auctions were still open). There may only be two known copies in the US but I bet in Singapore you could still find one with relative ease.
Edit: In fact, according to CNET there were 550 systems made.

Smork, currently there are 2 known HK xbox systems.
It is so rare, that it was thought to be an April fools joke for several years, because no one could actually locate a system on Yahoo! Singapore, or anywhere else: http://kotaku.com/332246/hello-kitty-xbox-is-totally-real
(the pictured xbox in this article belongs to ProgrammingAce)
What you are most likely referencing is a Hello Kitty xbox case mod that was sold for several years.
However, if you do know anyone, or even have pics of a system, not provided by either ProgrammingAce or myself, I would love to see them.
If there are more than 2 out there, I would love to confirm it... even finding a 3rd system would be rad.

If its opened its used but no matter still would get top dollar
last year there was one on ebay for a buy it now of $800??? I think i found it through gamesiped, the guy had a bunch of other rather rare consoles. I also once saw a boxed one in person in a shop in LA ( i think japan video games). The console is rare but there a few out there from what i remember there were a certain number made but only a handfull actually sold. and to be honest this one makes only the fourth one that i seen and i have actually been looking for one for years.

Local pickup only? Ew.
+ no pics of the actual system
+ an ebay rating of 94.1% with 15 transactions
It appears that the system is not as rare as I thought, but it does seem to be quite rare.
I've started a new thread on this in the classic gaming area to see how many other people have seen one, if anyone here is interested.
Thanks for all the responses!

Thanks Steve. Lately people keep trying to use the word "known" as a definition for "only". Thats not how it works. Even if you guys only know two people who have this, there are definitely more than two copies. Why? Well here's a quick primer:
As far as production goes, you don't go to a production house/company/place and say "I want one or two of these books/cds/games/systems made." Instead, you say "I want this many hundreds/thousands/millions of copies of this book/cd/game/system/whatever made." And as such, you are always left with way more than two.
From now on yall should just start saying "there are only two people/members on DP who have this game/demo/system/whatever", NOT there are only two of these known to exist. If they made more than two(and they did) than more than two are out there. Showing up in the collection of a DP member does not equal the only copies that are allowed to be counted, but I figured that was basic common sense. Oh well.

At no point did I say that there were only 2 units. I said known. Known would be that there are copies of X in KNOWN hands. Of course there were more than 2 made, I didn't toss a made number in because I didn't remember the count (The CNet article Smork posted did confirm what I was thinking). Just because there were 550 made doesn't even mean that all 550 were sold. We know there were 300 10 Million PS units made (100 each for all 3 regions) and I know for a fact that not all US ones were ever even shipped out (there were still a few 'cases' of them left in a Sony warehouse). How many US ones are in known hands? I can think of 3. I know that doesn't mean that there are only 3 out there. There are by definition 97 more, but the collecting community at large has no idea where they are.
Same thing can be said about the 9/11 Syphon Filter 3's. We KNOW there were bunches made, but that only about a dozen have made themselves known to us (us being the collecting community), seven of which you have/had. I thought the 'us' was pretty well understood in a discussion like this.
There is this miracleous thing called the internet where often times stuff has the ability to be access by just punching it into a search engine and waiting to see what shows up. How do you think that later copies of NBA 2Ball have come to be known? Sure as heck wasn't the NBA 2Ball registry question that my web browser makes me answer every time I open up safari and visit DP.

My post wasn't singling you out Papastu. I was just stating a general consensus that has been going on lately with "known/found" copies vs "made/available" copies. Some people are way too quick to jump the gun and say "oh my Paul I've never seen this before and I've been collecting for X number of years so it must be the only one ever made/available".
Thats what I am hoping more people get away from doing. Saying "these are the only known copies" is ok, but it sometimes unintentionally leads others to think that they are the only copies in existense. And as we both know that isn't always the case.
